Project Name: Eagle-Utilities Management System

Duration: Mar 2000 to Nov 2001

Client: Main street Networks, California, USA

Description: Main Street Networks is an Internet Gateway Service Provider


(IGSP) that partners with utilities to put the entire home, all the
devices in that home, and all the people in that home -
computer literate or not - on the Internet. Utilities purchase and
deploy the Main Street

Networks services, based on the Main Street Internet Gateway,


and offer these co-branded e-services to customers.
Contribution: MainStreet Networks has developed the powerful, open-
architecture MainStreet Internet Gateway system-transforming
an important utility access point - the electric meter - into an
Internet connection that also can deliver and manage popular
new services.
For this distinguished company MainStreet Networks, I was
responsible for design, development and implementation of
Automatic Meter Reading Module. It includes

 Monthly electric consumption reads


 Tamper notification
 Power outage/restoration notification
 Ancillary meter reads (gas, water, propane)
 Load profile (15, 30, and 60 minute)
 Time of use
 Physical remote connect/disconnect
 On-demand reads and Data Analysis

Project Name: Web-site for Navic Systems

Duration: Feb 2000 to Mar 2000

Client: Miller’s System, MA, USA

Description: This project involved with development of web-site for Navic


Systems.
Contribution: Navic Systems gives broadband and telecommunications
providers the ability to better serve their customers, lower their
operating costs and generate new revenue through intelligent
distribution and management services.

For this distinguished company Miller's System designed and launched the web-site. I
was responsible for designing template (connecting various
graphics which is common to all pages) , coding html pages (all
content using style sheet) and few page’s of Photoshop based
designs. It includes
 Search engine capabilities.
 Java script navigation.
 Graphic designs.
 Style sheet design.
 Mailing facility.

Project Name: Development of Reporting Tool For 401(k) plan

Duration: Dec 99 to Feb 00

Client: Standard &Poors, MA,USA

Description: This project involved with development of online reporting from


database using Java.

Contribution: I was responsible for design of database, static and dynamic HTML
pages as per clients specifications generated through Java
Servlets, coding Java scripts for interaction of HTML forms with
web server and dynamically creating the web pages. The
important features of the project are:

 Auto Generation of data from Journal file which has all data.
 Generating fund, Cash and Equity percentages for
Investment change report using JDBC.
 Generating online Utilization report for showing statistics
using Java Servlets.
 Producing data based on each participant and Plan Sponsor.
 Generating reports based on date range for Plan Provider.
 Generating Charts using Applets for comparison.
 Automated messaging system whenever any user edits a
process phase.
 Indication of the state of the phase through images.
 Error-coding for all Reports.
 Managing the site through Dream Viewer.
 Maintaining the Existing pages of 401(k) plan according to
Client.

Project Name: Process Intranet Development.

Duration: Oct 99 to Nov 99

Client: Motorola Corporation, MA, USA

Description: This project involved development of Intranet Process


management.

Contribution: I was responsible for design of static and dynamic HTML pages as
per clients specifications, coding Perl & CGI scripts for
interaction of HTML forms with web server and dynamically
creating the web pages. The important features of the project
are:

 Verification of user name and password.


 Search engine capabilities.
 Capable to Modify user profile and project profile.
 Capable of modifying phases of the process.
 Uploading files from the client machine to the server.
 Downloading files from server to client machine.
 Automated messaging system whenever any user edits a
process phase.
 Indication of the state of the phase through images.
 Error-coding for all pages.

Project Name: Web site Development

Description: This project led to complete all information about the


company.

Duration: Aug 1999 – Oct 1999

Client: INSO Corp, MA, USA

Location: Boston
Contribution: This project involves around 200 pages HTML as front end and
around 100 scripts at the back end. This web site gives all kinds
of information about the company and its products. It also gets
information from the user for fulfill their requirements. My
contribution in this project is writing script in VB based scripting
language (DynaBase Scripting language) and Java script to
enhance the backend functionality of website. I also wrote
scripts in Java Servlet for reading and writing data from the form
to server and vice versa. The script will check the validity of data
before writing into the server. My contribution also involves in
developing some of HTML pages and enhances the existing
pages. The site is www.inso.com

Project Name: Computerization of AMET (Academy of Maritime Education


and Training)

Description: This project led to complete operation of new enterprise


system

Duration: November 1998 – April 1999

Client: AMET

Location: Chennai
Contribution: AMET conducts Higher Nautical Diploma Courses in Marine
Engineering and Nautical Science in collaboration with Glasgow
College of Nautical Studies, U.K. It conducts an Electro-Technical
Officer Course in collaboration with The Indian Institute of
Technology (Madras) to convert Radio Officers into Electro-
Technical officers. AMET also conducts STCW Courses with the
approval of the Indian government’s Director General of
Shipping and Ministry of Surface transport. It conducts other
marine courses to meet specific requirements of the shipping
industry. The Quality Policy of AMET is to provide a high quality
learning opportunity to mariners across the world and qualify
them to be competent, skillful and professional in serving the
maritime industry. To achieve the quality policy, the following
objectives had been defined.

AMET must confirm to International Statutory Standards in


conducting all maritime courses. AMET must establish,
implement and maintain a quality system meeting ISO 9001
requirement. AMET has been certified ISO 9001 by DET NORSKE
VERITAS, Netherlands, on June 5, 1998, and is the first maritime
academy in India to be certified.

With the above background, the project was classified into


different modules as follows:

1. Student Information System


2. AMET Web site
3. Library Information system
4. Accounts System
5. Management Information System
6. Material Information System
7. On-line Material
8. Staff Personal Information.

I have designed all the above modules as well as the AMET Web
site. It contains information about AMET and its organization
structure. It also describes various courses conducted by AMET.
It links to other pages, which describe new courses like ETO and
ICS. Using Java we designed a database for clarifications. The
project was designed under VB, MS-ACESS and Java, HTML and
JAVA-SCRIPT. My personal contributions included designing the
entire project, coding several modules and system
implementation.

SUMMARY
Over thirty years of experience in various fields like Management, IT platforms and
programming. At present working in AMET University as Director Ranking and
accreditation. Before joining this organization, worked for Main street Networks, CA
to develop Utilities Management System using Java, EJB,JSP,J-Script, Style
sheet,XML,SYBASE, and HTML. Worked in Unix, MVS, Windows NT, Novell NetWare
and MS-DOS Operating Systems. Worked in CGI, Perl, Cold fusion and JDBC.
Strengths include creativity, project design implementation, project analysis and
quick learning of new languages/packages. Guiding many research scholars and
published many papers in National and International Journals.

Delivery of all responsibility related to heading the department like Academic,


Management and co-ordination among the people of the department. Apart from
that holding the responsibility of IT relate work for AMET group like Website
development, Wi-fy for University and hostels, mail server maintenance and firewall
control, University software development and maintenance etc.,
