 Fellowship Training in Liver, Kidney and Pancreas Transplantation and HPB

surgery from USA.
 15 years of expertise in Multi-Organ Transplantation and Hepato-Pancreato-
Biliary (HPB) surgery including 10 years of work experience from USA, UK and
Australian Health care system.
 Developed and Headed the Liver, Multi-organ Transplant and HPB unit at
GEM hospitals and PSG Hospitals, Chennai & Coimbatore from 2016 to 2022.
 Heading the Liver, Multi-Organ Transplant and HPB division (Liver, Kidney and
Pancreas Transplantation) at Kauvery Group of Hospitals, Tamilnadu.
 Largest Pediatric Liver transplant program in South Tamilnadu and had done
the second youngest (6 month old child) Pediatric living donor liver transplant
in Tamilnadu.
 Liver Transplant - Performed more than 750 Liver transplants including
Cadaveric and Live Donor Liver Transplants with over 98% success rate.
Routine Laparoscopic/Robotic Donor Hepatectomies.
 Kidney Transplant - Performed more than 1000 kidney transplants (Cadaveric
and Living Donor). First and only team to do Robotic Kidney Transplantation
in Tamilnadu and has done more than 15 robotic cases in very obese patients
with 100% success rate. Largest volume of ABO incompatible kidney
transplants and Swap transplants in the state.
 Pancreas Transplant – Performed hundreds of Pancreas and Kidney-Pancreas
Transplant.
 Performed several hundreds of Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomies.
 Extensive experience in Advanced Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic surgeries
(HPB) and performed more than 2000 complex HPB surgeries including
minimal access and Robotic HPB surgeries.
 Extensive experience in Vascular and dialysis access surgeries
 Authored several publications and articles.
 Presented several research/clinical papers and given invited lectures in
National and International conferences.

 Performed the first successful liver transplantation in a public sector

hospital in South India (Stanley Medical College Hospital) in Jan 2009.

 Performed Tamilnadu’s (India) First Successful Robotic Kidney

Transplantation at GEM Hospital and Research Centre in March 2021

 Performed the First Successful Pancreas Transplant in North India at

Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Jaipur (Rajasthan) in 2016.

 “Best Transplant Surgeon of the year 2017” state award from

TRANSTAN (Transplant Authority of Tamilnadu, India) received from
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Tamilnadu.
