Child Details:

Name: M….

Age: 10 years

Functional age: 1 year

Room Observation:

In the Placement observation, I noted that the setting was semi-circle. The chairs and tables are
colorful. Walls were well painted. There was also creative work on the walls. The most
important thing was that, a play area for child was also made on one side. Tables and chairs were
also colorful. The room was very ventilated. There was also natural light in the room. And the
room was well equipped.

Child Observation:

The child was well dressed and seemed to be well cared. his personality was little shy. He
seemed to be quite silent as he didn’t speak in whole observation. He was 10 years old but the
appearance (functional age) of child was 1-year-old. The child was calm and wasn’t bothering
his environment. He was observing everything but he wasn’t participating. He was long heighted
with big eyes. He was biting his nails. His overall health was skinny and he seemed to be tired
because he wasn’t moving or doing any activity he was sitting on the edge of the chair with a
leaning posture his hands was hanging down. He was staring at things and people but he avoided
eye contact while whole observation. Although he observed everything. He doesn’t have any
interaction with his friends he was busy in his own world and thoughts and he was muttering in
mouth looked like he was talking with his self. Almost after one hour of observation at 10:02 he
tried to escape from room but supervisor stopped him and made him to sit back on his chair. The
child was not very active and didn’t listened very first command of supervisor.

Activity was performed by supervisor but the child wasn’t interested in activity first but then he
responded very well. There was a latency of 40-45 seconds. The activity showed that the child is
quick learner and after completing his task he was clapping for himself. The attention spam in
activity was 10%.

Then he had his lunch break and I left his class room.
