FOOD WEB
IN THE OCEAN

Maulana Rafif A.R - Group 4

DEFINITION OF
OCEAN HABITAT
Habitat is a place that is used to grow and
reproduce by some marine organism species.
Habitat is also a place for species to protect and
increase their population. These places are used
by living things as a place to gather with other
types of species. So ocean habitat is a place lived
by marine organisms.
DEFINITION OF
FOOD WEB
A food web is made up of many different
intersecting food chains. The meaning of
food chains are where the energy goes in a
food chain (in other words, “what gets eaten
by what”).
DEFINITION OF
FOOD WEB
The food web in ocean habitat consists of
producers like phytoplankton (plants), producers
eaten by primary consumers (zooplankton,
shrimp), the secondary consumer eat the
primary consumers (shrimp, crab, dolphin), the
tertiary consumers as the top carnivore (shark,
whale, sea lions).

DEFINITION OF
PRODUCER IN
OCEAN
The producer is a living
thing in the food web that
can produce its food for
example phytoplankton and
it's usually a living thing like PHYTOPLANKTON
a plant.
DO YOU KNOW
THE MEANING OF PRIMARY
CONCUMER?
The primary consumer is a living thing in
the food web that eat the producer.
Primary consumers make up the second
trophic level. Usually, they are herbivores
for example zooplankton, and shrimp.
ZOOPLANKTON
DEFINITION OF
SECONDARY CONSUMER
Secondary consumers are largely carnivores that feed on
the primary consumers or herbivores. Their role is to
control the population of primary consumers by eating
them for energy. Secondary consumers are organisms that
eat primary consumers for energy. For example crab,
codfish, and tuna.
DEFINITION OF
TERTIARY
CONSUMER
Tertiary consumers are those
that eat the secondary
consumers as their main source
of food (large predators). All of
them is a carnivores. Example of
tertiary consumer is shark, MARLIN FISH
whale, and marlin fish.
