Hello, dear teachers!

St. Patrick’s Day is the feast day of St.


Patrick, a patron saint of Ireland. Originally
celebrated with religious feasts and services,
St. Patrick’s Day became a secular
celebration of Irish culture when it reached
the United States alongside Irish
immigrants. It’s celebrated on March 17th.

Here you’ll find some ideas to make this


date even more special.

KIDS
St Patrick’s Day Wreath
Materials
•Paper plate
•Craft paint: rainbow colors
•Construction paper: black, yellow and green
Procedure
• Start by cutting out the central circle of the paper plate to
form a rim.
• Paint the paper plate rim in rainbow colors. As an alternative,
use crayons or markers.
• cut out shapes of the pot of gold and the shamrock.
• Use a small circle punch to make the coins out of yellow
construction paper. You can also use golden glitter foam for a
more authentic look. Glue the coins onto the pot.
• Glue the pot at the bottom of the paper plate.

Popsicle Stick Leprechaun Hat
Materials

• Popsicle sticks
• Green and black gouache paint
• Paint brushes
• Tacky craft glue or hot glue
• Green ribbon
• Scissors
• Yellow and black felt

Materials

•An old and clean Ice cream Tub


•Washi Tape – Black
•Green & Black acrylic paint
•Blue satin ribbons
•Hole punch
•Paint Brush
•Gold Glitter paper
•Scissors
Procedure

• Wash and clean an old empty tub of yoghurt or


Ice-cream. We used the 1/2 liter one.
• Using a brush, paint the outer surface of the tub
with green acrylic paint. Let dry completely. If
required, give it multiple coats till the tub is
completely covered. Be sure to paint the lid too.
• Now, thread the blue satin ribbon through both
the holes as shown in the picture.
• Line two washi tapes around the cylinder leaving
a half inch gap between them. Using a brush &
black acrylic paint, paint within the gap over the
green paint. Let dry.
• The final step is to cut out a belt buckle shaped
rectangle from the gold glitter paper and stick
onto the hat. You are finished! Your hat is ready,
and you can now decorate your table, mantle or
any corner of your house for St. Patrick’s Day!

them about St Patrick’s Day.
• Before you can separate ss in groups and have them
work on some activities related to the celebration. Why

Procedure

• For this activity, the teacher can have


students work in pairs or groups so
they can exchange ideas.
• The teacher could start by asking
students to think of what do they know
about St Patrick’s. What are the
symbols associated to it, and how they
could inform people on St Patrick’s day
by making a poster.
• After, students work can be shown in
the school
