NOTES ON SYMBOLS Left hand fingering is indicated by numbers beside notes, with © denoting open string and the fingers numbered 1 to 4, eg. licate string to be played: eg. G) Reman numerals above stave indicate fret position. C before Roman numeral denotes first finger Ringed numbers beneath notes i barré: e.g. CV Right hand fingering: p= thumb i = index finger m= middle finger a = ring finger = little finger (in rasgueos) CIFRA — The six-line stave represents the six strings of the guitar with the first string at the top. Numbers on’each le indicate the fret at which notes are played on that string. For the sake of clarity, timing of notes and details of fingering are indicated only in relation to the musical notation and have not been duplicated in the cifra. This is indicated by a vertical bracket across the stave immediately following the chord, with a 4 above it to indicate the 4th finger of the L. hand. ce a 4 A wavy line before a chord indicates that it is played as 8 fast arpegzio from bass to treble.
