-After reading, guide children in analyzing the text organization, or
structure,of the book. Remind them that authors of informational texts organize their
writing to fit the topic and their purpose for writing.
Authors often tell about real events that happened in the past in
chronological order so the reader knows what happened first, next, and ast.
Read aloud pp. 24, 26, and 29. ASK: What clue words tell you that the text is organized

Explain that telling events in chronological order also shows how one event is
connected to the next. Read p. 10. ASK: What is the author’s purpose for writing this
text? How does the author organize the information about Annie Moore?
Discuss what they dream about doing someday on p. 4

understand how the events in Annie Moore’s life are connected?

Students will draw a picture of a Children’s Room they might create in a library, using
the one on p. 27 as an example as a rough draft.

Technology Integration-
Teacher will guide students and will allow students to explore the website
planyourroom.com. Students will then use their rough draft to create a room using
planyourroom.com. Students will then have the opportunity to share their presentations
with the class.
