RICHARD & MURGENTHAL Your specialist for premium and customised railway components Innovative by tradition — for over 115 years . 3 re Your all-round partner for premium railway components A great deal has changed in the history of the rail- way, which dates back almost 200 years. We now trav- el faster and in greater comfort and safety than ever before. But one thing has stayed the same. The aspi- ration to achieve the greatest possible reliability and punctuality Richard AG has also been pursuing this idea of reliable precision ever since it was founded by Alfred Heuser in 1906, Our company initially focused on mechanical engineering, but throughout our 115-year history we have increasingly specialized in developing reliable and durable components for railway technology. Richard AG is now one of the world’s leading man- ufacturers of components and systems for supplying power to electric rail vehicles. Strong growth through customized solutions After steady and continuous growth, Hanspeter Jut- 21 was appointed CEO in 1995. Under his leadershi Richard AG embarked on a dynamic growth phase based on in-house development of customized rallway ‘components, which still continues to this day. This gave rise to the construction of a new assembly hall at our main site in Murgenthal in 2009. Another hall was added in 2018 for the new service and af- ter-sales technology department, just five kilometres away in Rothrist. The number of employees doubled from 60 in 2011 to around 120 today. The company is still owner-managed after more than 115 years Three senior executives took the reigns at Richard AG in 2021 and, along with two other senior executives, have managed the company ever since. All the mem- bers of the new management team have already been working for Richard AG for a number of years. This will ensure a seamless continuation of the company's success to date. Richard AG therefore remains own- er-managed and independent. ‘The management of Richard AG Roman Scmmer Christoph Odermatt areas Zau9q co Head of Sales Head of Production Co-onner Co-owner Co-owner Simon Fu ‘Smon Roegger Head of Research Head af Service A Development You can simply rely on our integral quality We specialise in railway components and ship our products all over the globe from Switzerland. We are eager to tailor our solutions to your specific needs and requirements. We look forward to receiving your enquiry = Low-maintenance operation thanks to the intelligent design © Supervision of measuring runs from customised design to assistance with homologation (approval) of pantographs. Pantograph control panel Highly functional control panels are essential for reli- ably raising and lowering the pantographs. The pan- tograph control panel offers a continuously variable adjustment of the contact force to control the panto- graph, while the pneumatic disconnector allows the air supply to the pantograph to be cut off. Our pantograph control panel at a glance For lifting and lowering any pantographs Contact force continuously adjustable from 0 to 150 newtons via pressure regulator They can be configured with pressure sensors, safety valves, a maintenance unit and an interlocking system to match the specific application Reliable disconnection of the air supply Locking mechanism with built-in lock pre- vents the pantograph from being lifted or activated The highlights of our pneumatic disconnector Highly reliable safety element as the first component in the interlocking system 30-year service life Compact design Tried and tested hundreds of times System selector switch, earthing dis- connector and roof line disconnector System selector switch When operating trains between two countries, the voltage may change, eg. from 15 kV AC in Switzerland to 3 KV OC in Italy. Our manual, pneumatic or electric system selector switches make this switchover seamless and ensure smooth operation. The disconnectors from Richard AG offer switching and earthing voltages from 0.75 KV to 3 KV DC and 15 kV to 25 kV AC, Farthing disconnector Earthing disconnectors connect the lve lines upstream and downstream of the main switch to earth. They are especially important when it comes to ensuring the safety of personnel carrying out maintenance or re- pairs in the traction units. An integrated locking con- cept and an embedded key multiplier prevent unau- thorised access and ensure maximum protection and safety. om The roofline disconnectors disconnect the AC or DC connection line between the individual train units, They ensure that a faulty system is shut down quickly and reliably. Ths, in turn, ensures reliable separation from the rest of the train Our system selector control over every voltage = Manual, pneumatic or electric design = Extremely reliable switching thanks to performance-optimised contact system = Connection to the vehicle via copper strands or busbars 1= Individual customisation and production on request - he design and arrangement can be freely selected you total ‘The most important facts about our earthing disconnectors {© Disconnector with rotating or linear moverent = Compact disconnector solutions where space is at a premium 1 Electric, pneumatic or manual operation 1 Robust design for dependable functionality ‘even under harsh conditions Roof line disconnector at a glance '= For installation in or on the roof © Extremely reliable and performance-optimised contact system ensures safe switching © Vehicle connection via copper strands or busbars = Designs for all power requirements = Manual, pneumatic or electric operation f = = cz Stable roof-mounted inter-coach jumper The high-voltage inter-coach jumper was designed for the electrical connection between two coaches and the deflection of the coach bodies required for this. Iti in- tended for roof mounting on traction units. Richard AG offers this component in a fixed and detachable con- nection. The roof-mounted inter-coach jumper is de- signed for an ambient temperature of -35°C to +70°C as well as for extreme weather conditions. Low maintenance earthing choke The earthing choke is mounted in the vehicle's earth wire, The stacked and coated sheets, which consist of a silver-plated copper rod with transformer sheet discs, provide effective damping. No maintenance work is required for the earthing choke. Get TLLETE (24 < Customer-specific insulators With its insulators produced in three materials ~ sil- icone, cast resin and porcelain - Richard AG offers a host of different electrical non-conductors that are precisely tailored to the special requirements of the railway industry. They offer robust insulation and are Usually used for installing live components opposite the coach body. Silicone insulators impress with their ex- ‘tremely low weight and high creep resistance due to the water-repellent surface. No main- tenance is required for these insulators Our cast resin insulators offer good insulation properties at reasonable prices. Richard AG uses porcelain or ceramic insulators solely for repairing existing components. Due to our wide range of older forms of insulation, we can also offer a igh level of reliability here.
