What appealed to me about this thesis?

Primarily, I decided to write this thesis because it deals with a geographic economic area
that is of enormous importance for the world economy and that will in all likelihood
continue to gain in importance in the future. Therefore, it is essential to deal with this
economic area and the conditions prevailing there. Especially as Europeans. Because the
comfortable situation in which Europe has found itself since the 1960s will not last in-
definitely.

Furthermore, it is exciting to see that in other cultures completely different manage-

ment systems are used than the ones we are familiar with. For example, the question
arises as to whether a course called "Advanced Management" would be offered at all in
Taiwan, since only the heirs of family firms would be considered as managers anyway.

What conclusions can be drawn from the study for my own studies and career? In the
course of globalization, it is indispensable to interact with companies from the Asian
region as well. Here it is a great advantage to have at least a rudimentary knowledge of
the social and corporate structures there.

What would I have done differently?

Basically, I have to state that the line spacing of the paper is too large in my opinion. In
terms of content, my focus would be less on finances and numbers. What would happen,
for example, if there were only one daughter but no son to inherit a company? How do
the employees feel about the traditional system and is their motivation possibly inhib-
ited because they have only limited opportunities for advancement? I also ask myself
what influence the conflict between China and Taiwan has on corporate structures.

If I had formulated such a thesis, the focus would probably be on these questions.
