CULTURE TRAVEL EXHIBITION

GROUP PRESENTATION 15% OF YOUR MIDTERM


Dates: Week 7 – March 6 to March 10

Description

For this project, you and your group will be working on the creation of a brochure and
the presentation of the journey described. You and your audience will travel back in
time, you will motivate others to visit a time in history, share information about the
things one may see, do and know. It will be delivered live on the day that you have this
course assigned. You and your group will work on the written and spoken format of this
academic presentation and on the engagement of the audience with your topic.

Instructions for this project

 You will need to be in groups of four (Your teacher will give you the groups).
 Your main task is to design a brochure and prepare the presentation of the
journey about one of the following topics: Mexico and its culture, The Maya
Empire and its influence, the Aztecs Empire and its influence, the Inca Empire
and its influence, Colombian Ancient Civilizations and their influence and The
Amazon Rain Forest. Each group will choose one of the topics.
 You should spend time in planning the project, researching about the topic and
designing the final product (brochure and presentation).
 The length of this presentation should be about 15-20 minutes total per group.
 The presentation should have proper visuals and it should have reliable
references cited according to the APA style.
 Everyone should talk and contribute to the presentation equally.
 Reading should be avoided. Your group will be penalized if reading is evident:
you will lose points.
 You should engage the audience with a 3-question quiz, an interactive reflection,
a word search, or any other quick activity that checks students’ understanding.
This will be done in groups in a definite time, and a mark for completion will be
given as class participation.
 You will have week 5 and 6 to prepare your presentation in class – 30 minutes
will be given in each session.
 The deadline to upload your material (brochure and checking for understanding
activity) to TEAMS is on Monday, March 6th prior to 7:00 am.
 Use the following rubric to know how you will be evaluated.
