Compare and contrast friends and enemies using a Venn Diagram.
2. Have you ever been friends with someone who was at one time your
“enemy”? What happened to change your mind about the person? Create
a Friend Job Application Form. Think about the qualities you want in your
friends as you create this job application.
3. Write a poem about one of your friends and what they mean to you. Be
sure to convey the way you feel about your friend in your poem about
them.
4. Reading Response:
Do you think Jeremy was really his enemy? Why or why not? Should we
have enemies, in your opinion? Why or why not?
5. Create your own recipe for Enemy Pie at the beginning of the book and a
new recipe for Friendship Pie at the end of the story. Include ingredients,
a picture and directions for both recipes!

Make Paper Pies:
Materials:
-red bulletin board paper (or other colors)
- light brown construction paper, 12 x 18 sheet
-dark brown or black paper, 9 x 12 sheet
- stapler
-glue stick
Directions:
1. Cut the brown paper in a circle.
2. Cut the red bulletin board paper a little larger than the brown
circle.
3. Cut strips of brown paper.
4. Stuff the “pie” with tissues or paper.
5. Staple around the outside.
6. Crinkle up some brown paper for the edge of the pie.
Super cute as a border around an Enemy Pie display! Students can also
use their creativity to alter the colors, ingredients, etc. You can add
worms and other things hanging out of the pie! Enjoy!
