Statement of the Problem

With fire, every little thing you have in your house will immediately vanish. Nothing will be left
even lives of people so close to you. As they say, prevention and protection is a life-saving need.
Here in the Philippines, fire has been one of the most common accidents in residential and
industrial areas destroying many lives and properties. Fire extinguishers can be a small but
important part of the home fire safety plan. They can save lives and property by putting out a
small fire or suppressing it until the fire department arrives. The reason why a homemade fire
extinguisher is important is because it can smother small cases of fire so that it wouldn’t spread
and it could be easily made using materials found at home. It is also much cheaper than that of
a commercialised fire extinguisher and it can still get the job done when dealing with simple
cases of fire.
Will the alternative mixture for a fire extinguisher made out of baking soda and vinegar
be effective in terms of:
