DELVAP VB 3-80
Vapor Barrier Insulation Coating
Profile
DELVAP VB 3-80 is a flexible. fire resistive,
white, abrasion resistant, washable vapor
barrier coating for thermal insulation with
‘excellent adhesion properties. DELVAP VB 3-80
has excellent brushability and is suitable for
appiication in indoor and outdoor commercial
conditions where it provides uniform even
coverage.
Usage
DELVAP VB 3-80 forms 2 durable protective
vapor and moisture barrier coating for
insulation over most types of air conditioning
ducts and cold water pipings, when applied in
multiple coats with ‘suitable mesh
reinforcement or doth embedded in between
two coats. DELVAP VB 3-80 also can be used
‘over polystyrene foam, polyurethane foam and
other foam insulations. DELVAP VB 3-80 is
formulated to use in high humidity
environments, indoor and outdoor commercal
applications.

Store under cover pieferably above “5:C and
below *30°C. Keep away from direct sunlight
and frost. Keep the container tightly closed

DELVAP VB 3-80 meets the requirements of
MIL-C- 19565 C/ Type Tl.
Lower atmospheric temperature and higher
atmospheric humidity will slow down the
drying of the coating and vice versa,
Installation Procedure
General
1, DELVAP VB 3-80 can be applied by a brish,
roller or airless spray. For airless spray
select a nozzle size of 0.026(0.70 mm).
Ensure the suitability of the equipment prior
to application.
2. It Is not recommended to thin DELVAP VB.
3-80 as it is supplied in a suitable
application consistency,
Surface preparation
Al Suriace to be coated must be clean, diy and
free from dust, dirt, oil, grease and any other
contaminants.Application
Indoor and
‘Application.
Light Duty Outdoor
1. To. provent water vapor and moisture
infiltration, proper flashing and complete
sealing is required.
2. Apply fist Coat of DELVAP YB 3-80 at a
coverage rate of 0.8 liter per M?.
Embed the cloth or mesh reinforcement in
tha wet coat and smocth out the
reinforcement to avold wrinkles using a
brush, Provide 5 cm overlapping for all
seams and joints.
4. Apply the finish coat of DELVAP VB 3-80 at a
Coverage rate of 0.8 liter per M* and allow to
dry.
‘The application shall provide a minimum dry fm
thickness of 0.9 mm,
Moisture Barrier Sealer
Apply DELVAP VB 3-80 to all fittings in
specified intervals of straight run pipe
insulation at 1,6 mm thickness to al butt
joints of pipe insulation and on to the bore
of the insulation for a minimum of 5 am from
the joint.
2. Place the insulation suitably and press firmly
into place and make sure the complete and
‘continuous seal.
Outdoor horizontal surfaces must have
complete drain. A pitch of atleast 2 cm/meter
is recommended,
Actual coverage may vary, depend on the type,
nature and evenness of the surface and the
application method.
Wherever required, the application rate of
DELVAP VB 3-80 can be increased to enhance
the final applied coating thickness.
The actual dry film thickness of the application
‘may vary with the type of reinforcement used.
Alvays test folls and paper facing for adhesion
requirements, prior to application. Never apply
DELVAP VB 3-£0, if rain is imminent.
DELVAP VB 3-80 contains no asbestos, lead,
mercury or any other hazardous materials.
Cleaning

when wet. Dried coating may be removed with
proprietary deaning solvents,
Health and Safety
Generally safe, non toxic and non flammable in
wet condition. Hovever, avoid prolonged skin
contact. Use of gloves is advisable. If eyes are
affected with DELVAP VB 3-80, rinse with exoess
amount of clean fresh water. If ingested, seek
‘medical attention immediately. Ventilation to the
working area is desirebe.
