General Information
Quality Standard
aap Implantate AG develops, produces, and sells surgical implants and instruments. Our Quality
Management System covers and manages the entire process, from development to production
and sales of the implants and instruments. By directly influencing all parts of the process, we are
able to guarantee the highest possible quality of the material, function, and service, together
with sustained use of processing materials and resources.
For our implants, we use only suitable material, such as titanium and its alloys; cobalt, chro-
mium and molybdenum alloys; nonmagnetic stainless steel; and ultra-high molecular weight
polyethylene. All material for aap implants meets national and international standards such as
DIN, EN, ASTM and ISO.
Important:
Implants and instruments from different manufacturers may differ in terms of material, design,
and quality and may not necessarily be compatible. Since aap Implantate AG has not checked
any combination of implants and instruments of other manufacturers, responsibility in this case
rests solely with the surgeon. For these reasons it is advisable, when using implants and
instruments from different manufacturers, to consult one of our medical product specialists.
Accredited quality
The aap Implantate AG quality assurance system, pursuant to appendix II of the Medical Device
Directive 93/42/EEC, employed in the design, production, and final inspection processes, has
been certified by an authority appointed by the European Union.
All aap Implantate AG products have successfully completed the appropriate conformity assess-
ment procedures and carry the CE mark. In addition, aap Implantate AG has been certified
according to EN ISO 13485 and voluntarily to EN ISO 9001 in their current release, the
pertinent standards for medical device manufacturers.

General Information
Article numbers
The aap article numbers are defined so that they refer to the product. This means it is possible
to read directly from the article number the product group as well as the most important features
or the characteristic dimensions of the product.
The first letter always designates the product group:

If the article number is followed by -2, the product is a pure titanium or a titanium alloy implant.
The preceding article number is then identical with that of the same steel implant.
