 “Sister Ikay, Brother Bern, Jun-jun and
Ken-ken, where are you?” The moon is
bright, it’s nice to play hide and seek, “said
Poloy”. Run out of their houses together.
Their voices resounded with joy that night.
 Because of the joy, a few moments passed
and none of them noticed that Poloy did
not show up. When they realized this they
helped each other to find him. Even so, they
still haven’t seen him. They informed his
mother, Aling Daniela.
 . Aling Daniela, has Poloy gone home? We
looked for him earlier but we didn’t find
him. The lady was stunned by what she
heard. He accompanied his son’s young
friends to the place where he was last seen,
but he was not there. Until they reached
the Macao Tree.
They were amazed at what they saw because
the tree looked like a brightly lit palace, the
rays shining from the butt of the firefly,
very attractive and seemed to invite a happy
and joyful celebration.
When they got close to the tree, they heard
different voices, when they looked into it,
they didn’t see anyone speaking.
They left that place and decided to go to Al-
ing Rosa. He knows something about the his-
tory of the big tree.
 Aling Daniela mentioned to Aling Rosa that
Poloy was missing while they accidentally
discovered that tree. Aling Rosa thought
suddenly. Couldn’t someone have taken a fairy
from your son?,” said Aling Rosa.”
It would be better if you could go to the town
and tell what happened to Poloy. Invite them
to go to the tree and bring a noise maker to
scare the fairies.” added Aling Rosa” You need
to make noise near Macao so that the fairies
will bring him back.
They started rattling the noise they brought
with them. Suddenly, a cold wind blew and
smoke seemed to come out of Macao’s body.
They slowly approached the smoke. There
they saw an unconscious child. It’s Poloy!
What happened to him?
 Aling Daniela woke up and shook
her son’s body strongly. Although
shocked, Poloy answered sleepily,”
What happened?”
What happened to you son? Why
did you go to this tree?” said Aling
Daniela.
That night when I hid I saw fireflies
that were very beautiful to look at
and I followed them wherever they
went. I was so happy with them
that I forgot I had friends. I would
have gone back because I got tired
of the fireflies one after another.
I rested at the foot of a large tree
and did not realize that I had fallen
asleep: Poloy’s account of them.
Today, the Macao tree is cared by the people who
lived there because they discovered that it served
as a refuge for fireflies.
 While Poloy and his children were
playing, he noticed little lights in
the place where he was hiding. He
followed them until he came upon
a Macao tree. His teammates were
completely worried about him
because he didn’t show up to their
game.
