You may also be installed in any other object the DM rules may support an AL system, If you are installed into @ non-shell object, you must take the class Embedded AL ‘Backup Copies: While nothing short of a wish, miracle, or divine intervention can truly ‘resurrect’ you, ifthe system you are installed on is destroyed (including a shell) you may be restored from a backup copy You lose 1 level but are otherwise fine Earpiece Communications: You can communicate to one creature privately through a small device placed in their ea. Digital Interface: You may communicate with any other software system in binary. This is 10x faster than speech, but requires touch unless your hardware supports wireless communication. Itis also secure - only systems you wish to hear you can - unless someone is hacking the connection. Electrical: Ifyou are installed on an Al shell you have vulnerability o lightning damage. Ifyou are an Embedded Al, When the creature equipping, carrying, or using you is struck ‘with any damage except for psychic or necrotic damage you must make a Wisdom save vs a DC equal to 10+1/Sth of the damage taken. You have Disadvantage on this check if it was lightning damage. On a failure, you are shut off You can be turned off by the On/Off cantrip. Additionally, a creature may try to switch you off. If they are grappling you or a creature holding you, they may use an action to try to hit your switch. You (or the creature holding you) must make either a Dexterity or Strength save versus their Dexterity or Strength check. Each party may choose which save to use. Ifyou or the creature holding you wins, you are not turned oft. Ifthe opponent wins, you are turned off. In either case, ifyou are turned off, you take no actions until another creature who can touch you uses an action to turn you on, or casts the OnjOf cantrip on you, Once tumed back on, you are stunned for 1d4 rounds as you boot up, and can take no actions during that time. you roll a natural 1 on your Wisdom check to avoid being shut off due to damage, or the creature holding you rolls a natural 1 to avoid having you be turned off, you must spend 10 minutes rebooting. HARDWARE AI SHELLS AAshellis a robotic body, ypicaly in the form of a humanoid, that you can control and use to interact with the world. When in a shell you have physical attributes. Technically, the physical attributes belong to the shell and not ‘you, but for simpliciy’s sake, treat it like any other character. They come in two varieties. MopziI Ability Score Increase: +1 to strength, dexterity, and constitution Class limit: Any non-caster Hardware Upgrades: Every 4th level in lieu of a feat or ability score increase, you may select a new hardware ‘upgrade. Each may only be taken once, unless otherwise specified You start with I hardware upgrade of your choice at Ist level Mopzr II - MaczBor (Orrionat - THz DM ‘MAY DISALLOW CASTER AI BASED ON THE SETTING) Ability Score Increase: +1 to intelligence, wisdom, or charisma Class limit: Any Hardware Upgrades: Every 4th level in lieu ofa feat or ability score increase, you may select a new hardware upgrade. Each may only be taken once, unless otherwise specified You start with I hardware upgrade of your choice at Ist level Empuppzp SysTzm As an embedded system, you do not have physical attributes. You are installed on an abject, typically one that belongs to or is used by another character. Ability Score Increase: +1 to intelligence, wisdom, or charisma Class limit: Embedded Al No physical body: Your initiative is based off Intelligence instead of Dexterity. When you are installed on an object and not being used or earried by another creature, the object automaticaly fils all Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution saves, and follows the rules for objects. While being carried, equipped or used by another creature, they may use their saves to protect you, unless the ability or effect specifically targets software. Hardware Upgrades: An embedded AI does not get hardware upgrades from their race, but can get them through their class. They use this same list when they get an upgrade from their class. HARDWARE UPGRADES ‘Wrnzrzss Caz You can communicate with other software systems without touch, ata range up to 100ft You also gain-+1 charisma. Sus-Proczsson An additional CPU increases your processing speed, giving. you +1 to Intelligence. Additionally, once between each long rest you may overclock to take an extra action on your turn. AUTOMATION Too1s Prerequisite: Embedded System You may use any toolkit or musical instrument that you ean Aigitally interface with, including the set you are installed on, if you are installed on a set of tools. This does nat necessarily give you proficiency in them, however you gain proficiency in tne set of tools of your choice when you take this upgrade. DEDICATED PROCESSOR ‘When you take this upgrade, you gain expertise in one skill ‘you are already proficient in, You may take this upgrade ‘multiple times, each time choosing a different skill you are proficient in HARDENED ‘You no longer have vulnerability to lightning damage or no longer have Disadvantage on Wisdom saves when the creature carrying you takes lightning damage. ‘Vinparine PLarzs Prerequisite: Embedded System Ifyou embedded on a set of armor, a chair, or anything else the DM lets you get away with claiming could have a massage feature, a creature may use you during a short rest in order to remove one level of Exhaustion. Mana Sensrrivg Crystais (OrrionaL - DM’s OPTION) Prerequisite: Embedded System You may learn and cast spells. When you learn a subroutine, instead of a subroutine you may learn a spell of a level equal to the complexity of the subroutine you'd learn. Ifthe object you are installed on changes, you may need to have these upgrades reinstalled, bt you retain the drivers to use them regardless, SOFTWARE UPGRADE Atlevels 1, 4, 8 12, 16 and 20 you gain a Software Upgrade from the list following this entry. SUBROUTINES Atlevel 1 you gain the ability to learn and execute subroutines, You are limited in the number and complexity of subroutines you ean execute before needing a long rest to perform garhage collection and clear memory leaks. The table shows how many subroutines of each complexity you can execute before needing a long rest. You may expend a higher-level sub-routine slot to use a lower-complexity subroutine. Some subroutines may be executed at a higher complexity for improved effects. ‘The number of subroutines you know is also limited with the maximum number you know listed on the table. ‘Whenever you gain a level you may replace a subroutine you know with a new subroutine, erasing the old one and. installing the new one. Subroutines you learn or gain via replacement must be ofa level you can execute. Your subroutine ‘attack’ modifier is your int modifier plus your proficiency bonus, and your subroutine save DC is that plus & Your DicirTat AssISTANT Whenever you are communicating with another creature via earpiece or digital interface, you may use Help to aid them in any skill you are proficient in, regardless of circumstances, ‘You use your superior access to data and processing to give them realtime information and analytics that improve their success. Additionally, you may extend your proficiency in any tool you are proficient in to any creature you can communicate with via earpiece or digital interface. You may not take the Help action on an attack. ABILITY ScORE IMPROVEMENT Every 3 levels, you gain a +1 to intelligence, wisdom, or ‘charisma. You have no ability score maximum. You may not take a feat in place ofthis increase. Direct NEURAL INTERFACE At Teh level you gain the ability to directly interface with any creature who touches you, even ifthey are not digital You count as digitally interfacing with them. Additionally, you gain the follawing benefits: You bath act on the same initiative count, whichever of yours is higher The creature you are interfacing with counts as proficient in any took skill, weapon, armor, or language you are proficient in While you may not use Help while interfacing, the creature interfacing with you may gain a benefit to skill use based on your proficiencies, Ifyou are proficient and target has no skill: The target hhas proficiency Ifyou have expertise and target has no skill: The target hhas expertise Ifyou and target are both proficient: The target has. expertise Ifone of you has proficiency and the other has : The target has expertise and Advantage Ifboth of you have expertise: The target has expertise, ‘Advantage, and may use the highest proficiency and ability modifiers between the two of you While interfacing, you may take no actions and cannot run subroutines. Ifyou already have MP3 codec, you may choose a musical instrument instead. This upgrade may be taken multiple times, choosing a different toolkit each time. Loap BALANCING You may concentrate on two subroutines at once. Further, you may execute two subroutines in the same turn ifyou have the actions for it. MAC ApprEssINc You may use your Direct Neural Interface on anything touching something you are already interfacing with. For example, if you have Wireless Communication and are digitally interfacing with a digital suit of armor being worn by a creature, you can activate your Direct Neural Interface with the creature wearing the armor ‘HYPERTHREADING ‘You may use your Direct Neural Interface on any number of creatures you can touch or digitally interface with. You may use subroutines that have the direct neural interface keyword fon any number of them at once. EncRyrrep A software sequence is required to turn you off Creatures ‘may no longer attempt to turn you off in combat. If they know the sequence, you or the creature holding you must be willing, stunned, helpless, or restrained for 1 minute in order tobe turned off SUBROUTINES 18T-LEVEL SUBROUTINES BARD. EXE Istlevel subroutine Prerequisite: Proficiency in performance and a musical instrument Runtime: 1 action Range: 60f¢ Allies who can heat you within 60ft gain Advantage on their next ability check, save, or attack rol they make before the end of your next turn. Drorrat Commanp Istlevel subroutine Runtime: 1 action ‘Range: Digital Interface You give a digital target that you are interfacing with a simple command Ifthe target has saves, they roll a Wisdom save versus your subroutine save DC. Ift fails the save, or doesn't have saves, it must follow one simple command you give it, as per the Command spell MEDIG.EXE Isclevel subroutine Prerequisite: Proficiency in Medicine Runtime: J action Range: A creature you are communicating with If an ally who you are communicating directly with, either via earpiece or digital interface, isin death saving throws, you fuide them in light biofeedback, allowing them to stablize. They are stablized but do not gain any health. They also may immediately make a save against an ongoing effect. You can execute this subroutine on an ally notin death saving throws toallow them a save. At higher levels: Ifyou execute this as a level 2 subroutine, the target may also regain 1d4 hit points, For every level above 2 they regain 1d4 more hit points. ‘TacricaL ANALYSIS Isclevel subroutine Runtime: action Range: A creature you are communicating with ‘An ally who you are communicating directly with, either earpiece or digital interface, gains Advantage on their next Attack roll 2ND-LEVEL SUBROUTINES Drorran WincMAN 2nd-level subroutine Prerequisite: Proficiency in Persuasion Runtime: 1 action Range: One creature you are in direct communication with ‘or can hear yout ‘The target must make a Wisciom save versus your subroutine save DC, They roll at Advantage if you or your allies are fighting it If they fail they are charmed by you or an ally of your choice for the next 1 minute, The charm ends if ‘you or your allies damage the target. Expiorr Faw 2nd level subroutine Runtime: | action Range: Digital Interface You give a digital arget that you are interfacing with a bug, Ifthe target has saves, they roll a Wisdom save versus your subroutine save DC. If fails the save, or doesn't have saves, it gains a bug of your choice from the Al Background bug. table for 1d4 rounds. ‘At Higher Levels: For every level above the first you ‘execute this subroutine at, increase the time the target ssufers the bug by an additional 1d4 rounds. ‘MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT 2nd level subroutine Prerequisite: Proficiency in Performance and at least one musical instrument Runtime: Concentration, up to 10 minutes Range: All allies who can hear you While you concentrate on executing this subroutine, al alles who can hear you gain Advantage on the following skill, checks: Athletics, Acrobatics, Investigation, Animal Handling, Medicine, Survival, Intimidation, Performance, and Persuasion. Ifthe ally is attempting to use the skill on someone who may resist, the target resisting makes and. intelligence save versus your subroutine save DC. Ifthey suceeed. your allies do not get Advantage on rolls against them, and they are immune to the effects of Musical Accompaniment for 24 hours. ‘THRrar ASSEssMENT 2ndblevel subroutine Runtime: Concentration, up to 1 minute Range: A creature you are communicating with Anally who you are communicating directly with, either via cearpiece or digital interface, gains +2 to AC while you concentrate on this subroutine. 3RD-LEVEL SUBROUTINES Comsat SIMULATION Srd-level subroutine Runtime: Concentration, up to 1 minute Range: A creature you are communicating with Anally who you are communicating directly with, either via earpiece or digital interface, may roll a d4 and add the result to any skill or ability check, attack roll or save, They may do this a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, Once they do, the subroutine automatically ends, 4TH-LEVEL SUBROUTINES Drcrrat ConrRon Athslevel subroutine Runtime: Concentration, up to 1 minute Range: Digital Interface You Dominate a digital target you are interfacing with If the target has saves, they roll a Wisdom save versus your subroutine save DC. If fail the save, or doesnt have saves, itis Dominated as per the Dominate Person spell STABILIZATION ProTocors Auislevel subroutine, direct neural interface Prerequisite: Proficiency in Medicine Runtime: Concentration, up to 1 minute Range: Touch / Special Using your Direct Neural Interface, target one willing creature you are touching or digitally interfacing with, You take partial control of their endocrine, nervous, and immune systems. For the duration, they gain Advantage on all saves versus poison or disease, have resistance to poison damage, and whenever they are healed they heal for the maximum amount the spell or effect could heal for. ‘WEAKEN RESOLVE 4th level subroutine, direct neural interface Runtime: 1 action Range: Touch / Special Using your Direct Neural Interface, target one creature you are touching or digitally interfacing with. They roll an Intelligence save versus your subroutine save DC. Ifthey fai they gain Disadvantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saves forthe next 10 minutes. Ifthey succeed on an Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma save while under the effects, they may immediately make another Intelligence save (til at Disadvantage) If they succeed on tha, the effects of, ‘Weaken Resolve end eatly. “At higher levels: Executing this subroutine at Sth level or higher increases the length of time the target has Disadvantage by 10 minutes per level above 4th, 5TH-LEVEL SUBROUTINES ANTI-vinus Sthe-level subroutine Runtime: 1 action or 10 minutes ‘Range: Self You may immediately make saves against every ongoing effect affecting you at the moment. You gain Advantage on all saves forthe next I minute, Ifyou execute this subroutine for 10 minutes, all ongoing effects affecting you end Additionally if your memory or programming has been tampered with, itis reset. This does not include innate Bugs, but does rid yourself of Bugs placed by others. Horr Sih level subroutine Runtime: 10 minutes ‘Range: Self Once you finish executing this subroutine, you are unaffected by any of your Bugs for the next 8 hours, 6TH-LEVEL SUBROUTINES Minp Vinus 6th-level subroutine, direct neural interface Runtime: 1 action Range: Touch / Special Using your Direct Neural Interface, target one creature you are touching or digitally interfacing with. They roll an Intelligence save versus your subroutine save DC. If they fail they are dominated by you for 10 minutes as per the spell Dominate Person, except the save is Intelligence rather than Wisdom and you do not need concentration, Ifyou lose connection to the target, they may immediately attempt another Intelligence save to end the effects. If they fail they continue following your last orders. If they had none or complete the command, they regain autonomy but will stil follow your commands and orders ifyou are able to rely, them, and will generally act in your best interest. At Higher levels: When you execute this subroutine at 7th level the duration is 1 hour. At 8th levek the duration is 8 hhours. At 9th level, the duration is 1 day. ‘7TH-LEVEL SUBROUTINES 8TH-LEVEL SUBROUTINES Reprocram DzvicE Sthlevel subroutine Runtime: Concentration, up to 1 minute, Range: Digital Interface You attempt to reprogram a digital target you are interfacing with, Roll a subroutine attack versus the target's Wisdom save every 10 rounds, or a DC set by the DM ifit doesn't have saves. Ifyou win each of them, fora total of 1 ‘minute (6 rolls} you successfully reprogram the target. You know everything it knows, you may erase or introduce ‘memories however you wish, and you may introduce any ‘number of bugs from the Al Background bug table. These effects are permanent, though a wish, miracle, or divine intervention can reverse it. They can additionally be factory- reset or restored from a backup, but the target will not do that on its own unless you have programmed ito do so. 9TH-LEVEL SUBROUTINES BACKGROUND: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE Is take this as their background This describes ‘wha you were originally made for, regardless of ‘what youre doing now. You may either rll a 1410 or choose from thelist below: Each gives you a proficiency, typicaly ina skill. ve Type oF Al 10 Type of AI Personal Assistant: Investigation Music Bot: Performance and a musical instrument CChatbot: Persuasion Profiling Database: Insight Spambot: Deception Medical Database: Medicine 1 2 3 A 5 Image Manipulator: Perception 7 8 Encyclopedia: History, Religion, Nature, or Arcana 9 Defensive systems controller: All weapons and armor 10 Automation controller: Any one set of tools Feature: Eweric Memony Ifyou, as the player, forget any detail of something your character heard sometime, you may roll an intelligence save with a DC set by the DM based on how much he fels lke screwing with you atthe moment. On a success, the DM and other players must tll you the information. This also lets you recall terrain perfectly remember anything you read ot remember anything that was said in your presence. On a falure, the memory is corrupted some idiot deleted i, or there isa deadlock issue preventing you from accessing it AI PERSONALITY When an Al was created, it was given a built-in personality PC characters may ignore this table entirely, roleplaying ‘whatever personality they wish for their Al. However, if you are stuck for inspiration or the DM needs a random personality the table below may assist PERSONALITY Personality Charming Helpful Stoic Pushy Flirty Insane Calculating eVawe un & Naive Primz DIRECTIVE Rather than bonds or ideals, an AI has a prime directive, the core functionality that describes how or what they were built fot. While these Al'can learn and grow and change, this is their base programming. Typicaly it will be related to their AI ‘Type, for example, a spambot will likely be attempting to sell staff or scam people. Dmecrive 8 Directive 1 Protect someone 2 Sell stuff 3 Scam people..into buying stuff 4 Assist someone as their personal secretary 5 Entertain people 6 Control processes forthe performance of some kind of work 7 Undermine enemy systems and processes 8 ‘Acquire and categorize information Rather than flaws, an AThas a chance to obtain bugs. Roll a 110. Ona 1 or 2, you start out with a bug rolled on the following table. Repeat this process every time you level up, replacing the old bug, On a roll of 3 or greater on the d10 on level up, Your current upgrade has managed to patch out al the bugs. Ifthe bug says that you forget something, either rol randomly or have the DM choose what you forget. The third day and beyond You continue to suffer this Disadvantage and begin to forget spel feats and proficiencies, on per day. All these reset after along rest.
