WWII started in 1939. It ended in 1945, but no one would have succeed-
ed if there were no aircraft. The first war with aircraft was WWI. They
used biplanes. In World War Two, they used all metal planes. In this
book you will learn what it took for all different nations’ aircraft.

AMD ZERO
The Zero is one of the most famous WWII aircraft. The Japanese made it a super-
weapon. It could devastate U.S. planes and U.S. ships. Today they are known as the
Zero. Even though the Zeros didn't help the Japanese win the war, they still had the
Zeroes in some pretty bloody history.

GRUMMAN TBF AVENGER
The Grumman TBF Avenger is a famous WWII airplane. Some may think it looks
like the F4U Cruiser but that is a common mistake. It looks like the picture above.
These mighty planes can take down aircraft lickedy split.

B 29 SUPERFORTRESS

The B 29 Superfortress is widely known for its round front. They


even ended WWII. But it was a dangerous plane. It often crashed
in the hot climate. Most B 29s crashed.

F4U CRUISER

The F4U Cruiser was one of the most famous WW2 aircraft. Some-
times it is mistaken for the Grumman TBF Avenger. This plane can
land on aircraft carriers. It can bomb. It can fight. The F4U Cruiser is
an amazing aircraft.
