The unsinkable ship sank!

The tragedy of the century
After leaving the English Southampton deck on
April 12 th 1912, the unsinkable Titanic reached the
bottom of the North Atlantic Ocean only four days
later. On April 14 th 1912 around 2 am, the floating
palace hit an iceberg. After six different warnings,
the captain of the unsinkable ship refused to slow
down. Unfortunately, that decision was disastrous
since the crew members were not able to see what
was ahead. They were not able to turn the boat
quickly enough to prevent a collision with the icing
threat. Passengers and crew members spent the

the passengers of the third class locked away,
unable to get to the deck. Children were crying
and parents were giving their small children to
first-class strangers in hope of saving them.
Elizabeth Shuts, a governess, was hurried away

them up.

Some believe the sunken ship wasn’t actually the Titanic but was the Titanic’s near-identical sister-ship
Olympic. The rumor says that the two ships were swapped before the voyage. The International
Mercantile Marine Group, the company that owned the Titanic, would get more insurance money if the
Titanic sank compared to the Olympic. Also, the fact that there weren’t enough lifeboats supports this
theory.
