early age. - Develop both hemispheres - Keep them away from bad habits - Expanding attention span As a matter of fact/It is undeniable that/ It is commonly accepted, learning a musical instruments is beneficial to children in many ways. Firstly, it is scientifically proven that music is an effective therapy to develop both sides of human hemispheres. As we all know, the left side of our brain helps us calculate and function with numbers and directions easily. Meanwhile, the right side of the brain works as a provoking matter that enhances and facilitates the flow of language and creativity. By playing music at a young age, both motor and thinking skills, as well as both sides of our brains would develop. Secondly, another merit of learning how to play a musical instrument is that you can stay away from bad habits and a sedentary lifestyle. Since music opens your mind and helps you wind down after stressful working and learning hours, you are less likely to be passive and, in some cases, become a couch potato. Ultimately, last but not least, music is a wonderful way to help us expand the attention span, reduce stress and strengthen productivity. For instance, I used to work relentlessly from 8 am to 11 am every morning. I must admit that I was too exhausted and of course, my productivity as well as creativity was prone to be very low. However, thanks to music and since when I am in the habit of playing piano, I feel more relaxed and open to new ideas. Not to mention, my level of concentration at work is greatly enhanced. So, to sum up, knowing how to play a musical instrument can be considered an important life skill. Furthermore, I suggest that children should learn to play one or two instruments if possible.
1. At what age? As soon as possible. Because music is an essential
part of our lives and knowing how to play a music instrument is advantageous in various ways. 2. Piano, I guess. Because piano is quite popular in Vietnam and it is not hard to find a piano tutor or a music center for your children. 3. Possible effects: - The kids are still young, thus, they may feel demotivated and after several lessons, they get bored and want to drop. - They may neglect their academic subjects at school since they are so preoccupied with music.
