E5/I5 from En 14019

In EN 14019, E5/I5 refers to the impact resistance class for external blinds. This class is
determined by testing the ability of the external blind to resist the impact of a soft body (such as
a tennis ball) and a hard body (such as a steel ball) under specific test conditions.

E5/I5 indicates that the external blind has a high level of impact resistance. Specifically, a product
with an E5/I5 rating has been tested to withstand an impact from a soft body at 45 km/h and an
impact from a hard body at 30 km/h, without suffering damage that affects its functionality or
safety.

Impact resistance is an important factor in the safety and durability of external blinds, as blinds
that are not impact-resistant can be damaged by objects such as balls or debris, which can
compromise their performance or safety. Therefore, it is important for external blinds to meet a
certain level of impact resistance to ensure long-term performance and safety in buildings.
