© 2016 5000 40
information from state departments and home school organizations suggest that
within seven years, there will be 5 million children that are home schooled.

offering instruction in specified areas such as the fine arts, or for specific groups
such as gifted and talented

Modeling

NCLB
NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND
The sweeping reform of ESEA signed by President Bush in 2002
NCLB redefines the federal role in K-12 education and closes the achievement gap
between minority and disadvantaged students. It is based on four principles:
stronger accountability requiring states to implement statewide accountability in all
public schools; increasing flexibility and local control; expanding options for parents
and places an emphasis on teaching methods that have been proven to work.
