1 Field Maintenance
NOTICE
To ensure that a cabinet can run outdoors stably for a long time, comply with the
following principles during field maintenance:
● Do not perform maintenance operations for cabinets in rainy or snowy weather
to keep raindrops or snow from falling on the surfaces of devices inside the
cabinet (including the front panels of service boards), cables, and cable
apertures.
● Do not keep the cabinet door open in a dusty environment for a long time.
Dust in the cabinet may seriously affect the service life of the components.
● It is recommended to open the cabinet door to maintain the device only when
the temperature is in the range from -5°C to +35°C. In this way, the device can
be protected from dew condensation and impact of extreme temperature.
● Exercise caution when opening the cabinet door in the case of strong wind. A
strong wind may cause the cabinet door to be opened or closed fiercely. This is
dangerous to the maintenance engineer and may damage the device. Use a
support pin to fix the cabinet door in a specified position.

Fault Analysis
● After installation, the cabinet is not powered on and is placed in the outdoor
or damp environment. Due to the temperature difference between day and
night, the temperature of internal cabinet walls is lower than the ambient
temperature at night, so that air is condensed into dewdrops on the internal
cabinet walls.
● The cable apertures of the MDF compartment are not properly sealed, the
sealing rubber strip on the cabinet is damaged, or the cabinet door is not
properly closed. The rain water cannot be drained after entering the cabinet,
thus causing condensation inside the cabinet.
Procedure
Step 1 The following provides three methods of handling dew inside the cabinet.
● Use the water-absorbing cloth to remove the dew.
● Open the door to vaporize the dew through the wind or sunlight.
CAUTION
When wiping the dew, take certain measure to prevent the dew from entering the
device.
Step 2 Check whether the desiccant has expired. If the desiccant has expired and the
cabinet is not powered on, replace the desiccant with a new one.
NOTE
Step 3 Check whether the sealing rubber strip on the cabinet door is intact. If the sealing
rubber strip is damaged, replaced the sealing rubber strip with a new one, and
close the cabinet door.
Step 4 Check whether the cable apertures of the cabinet are sealed properly. If the cable
apertures are not properly sealed, use sealing materials to seal the cable
apertures.

Precautions
● Batteries must be placed vertically with the positive and negative terminals up
during battery storage.
● When batteries are stacked up, the stacking requirements on the battery
package must be complied with.
● The warehouse administrator collects the battery storage information every 1
month, and reports the storage information about batteries that are stored
for 3 months to the planning department to arrange battery charging.
Storage Requirements
● Temperature: 5°C to 45°C
● Relative humidity: ≤ 90%
● Storage environment: dry, well-ventilated, and clear
● Do not expose batteries to any corrosive materials or organic solvent
(including gas).
● Keep out of direct sunlight.
● Place batteries at least 2 meters away from any heat source (for example, a
heating device).
NOTE

storage duration.
If batteries are stored overtime because of force majeure factors, such situations
must be reported to the department director promptly.
battery cables, as shown in the following Figure 3-1. (12 V common batteries are
used as an example.)
Step 3 Connect the positive and negative terminals of the battery set to the positive and
negative terminals of the battery charging device respectively.
NOTE
Connect a circuit breaker between the battery set and the battery charging device. The
current supported by the circuit breaker is 1.5 to 2 times as strong as the maximum circuit
current.
The following table lists the parameters for battery charging. (12 V common
batteries are used as an example.)
Step 4 Start the battery charging device, and configure the charging procedure according
to the above-mentioned parameters.
Step 7 Idle the batteries for 8 hours after battery charging. Use the multimeter to detect
the open circuit voltage of the battery one by one, and record the related data.
Identify the battery with an unaccepted open circuit voltage.
The following table lists the standard parameters for battery charging. (12 V
common batteries are used as an example.)
12 V ≥ 13.8 V ≥ 13.0 V
NOTE
● For qualified batteries after battery charging, they are packed for delivery or storage.
● For unqualified batteries after battery charging, use the above-mentioned methods to
connect them together and charge them again. If the batteries are still unqualified after
second battery charging, discard them as useless.
----End
Step 7 Base on the capacity check statistics, if the battery discharging duration exceeds
9.5 hours, the battery is activated successfully. Otherwise, the battery fails to be
activated. Batteries that fail to be activated are discarded as useless.
Step 8 Use the 1.80 V/cell as the benchmark. Classify the successfully activated batteries
into 3 groups (higher than 1.80 V/cell, equal than 1.80 V/cell, and lower than 1.80
V/cell), and then classify the batteries in each group into sub groups based on
their discharging duration, that is, batteries with the difference between their
discharging duration within 0.5 hour are classified into a sub group. Mark them
with specific signs for future delivery.

NOTE
● C10 indicates the battery discharging capacity in 10 hours. Generally, it is the same as
the battery nominal capacity. For example, the nominal capacity (C10) of a 12 V 100 Ah
battery is equal to 100.
● If there are a number of batteries that needs to be re-charged, charge the batteries in
batches.
● The charging limited current indicates the maximum current during battery charging.
0.05C10 indicates that the charging limited current is 0.5 time as strong as the nominal
current.
For example:
Charging limited current of a 2 V 300 Ah battery = 0.05 x 300 = 15 A
● The precision of the charging limited current is within 1%.
