Part 1: Exploring Professional Organizations


Teacher Learning Organizations
1. Identify at least three professional organizations for teachers, or from your
content area that will be useful in your future classroom.

3. Explain your discoveries about, purposes of, and benefits you as an educator
can receive from each organization
With a membership one can attend conferences for professional
development and being a member helps with connections
4. Describe how these organizations discuss different kinds of pedagogical
approaches and how technology use can support teaching & student
learning.

5. Identify three professional goals for yourself and how these organizations can
help you to achieve those goals.
I feel like I can grow as a teacher, I feel like I can meet people that provide
different ideas, and I feel like I can learn a lot
Part 2: Participate in a professional development opportunity with technology
Participate in a professional development opportunity through technology (webinar,
online conference, online discussion board, etc...).
1. Participate in a professional development opportunity regarding technology or
technology integration
2. Submit a picture, certificate, confirmation letter, etc. to prove your
participation in a professional development activity.
Part 3: Evidence of membership in a Professional Learning Network (PLN)
Explore professional learning networks within your content area, grade level, or interest
area.
1. Join a professional learning network related to your content, grade level, or
interest area.
2. Submit proof of joining a network (e.g. email notification, picture of
membership, screen shot).
