3 In addition to lost positions, 64 LEAs reduced employment for one or more categories of their employees
eg. Reducing work hours from 6.5 hours per day to 5 hours, reducing contract terms from 215 to 180.

5 North Carolina public schools received $297m in Federal Education Jobs funds in August 2010.
LEAs and Charters used $42.8m in 2010-11 to fund school level positions.
It is estimated that at least 90% of the remaining $254m, will be used in 2011-12 to save approximately 5,000 jobs.
These funds expire on September 30th, 2012 and are not recurring.
