VEER SURENDRA SAI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, BURLA NoVSSUTIOOR/ 2 “7 (2023 Date: 03.04.2023 OFFICE ORDER ‘The following guidelines to be followed by all Departments conducting various society activities in the University. (a) The head of the department should act as the chairman of the society. (b) Head of the department will consult with faculty members to appoint faculty advisor, student secretary (preferably pre final year with CGPA not less than 8.0) for smooth operation of activities. (©) The amount of membership fees should be decided at the department level based on the numbers of activities. (@) The students are advised to pay the membership fees to the society account only. (€) Faculty advisor has to address the fresher regarding the objective of the department society. The head of the.department and faculty advisor has to ensure that there should not be any involvement of senior students towards collection of membership fees. (®) The department society should promote various activities like: seminar, workshop, technical events, training on value added courses and any certification courses for technical enrichment of the students. (@) There should be very limited budget towards refteshment expenditure on above activities without provision of lunch and dinnerthat includes department level celebrations like; Teachers’ day, welcome, farewell and any other faculty-student interaction etc. (h) HOD should ensure the presence of faculty members during the society events (Local fund audit of society fund should be done every year G) Departments conducting activities like conferences, seminars, workshops, FDPs, and meetings ete. are advised not to use the university premises for lunch or dinnér purpose. If required, they can use university guest house / alumni guest house / or any other suitable location other than academic campus. (&) Alll activities related to students should be closed on or before 6:30 pm. Alll the girls’ students will be inside the hall by 6:30 pm in normal days and 6:45 pm on function days. The boys will be inside the Hostels by 7 pm. Surprise checks to be made in hostels and non-availability in the hostels will lead to action.
