Book of Rites, and the Spring and Autumn
Annals.
The Four Books are comprised of the
Doctrine of the Mean, the Great Learning,
Mencius, and the Analects.

Awards
Chinese educator and philosopher Confucius is credited with being
the first to establish a private school that accepted students from
various social backgrounds. His ideas and way of thinking have
significantly impacted China and elsewhere.
The Chinese government sponsors the UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy,
which honors contributions to technical literacy that benefit adults in rural
regions and youth who haven't been to school.

According to Zhou Naixiang, the governor of Shandong, the award


has significantly aided in the fight against illiteracy and the
advancement of education globally.
