Top KDP Niches To Explore In 2020

1: Half and Half Recipe Books

Half and half recipe books are simply recipe books where half of the book (or less) is filled out with
actual recipes and the second half of the book is blank for the customer to fill in. To break into this
niche, take a look at all of the different diets out there. The “not as popular” diets will have much less
competition. Also think about the recipes that you know off the top of your head. What type of diets
would these fit under?

Keywords to look into:

 Vegan blank recipe book

 Blank family cookbook
 30 Day Keto Meal Planner

2: Password Books (All about the cover)

Password books are REALLY popular and sell extremely well. Breaking into this niche is going to require
that you have a cover that is easily recognizable and stands out. Make your text MASSIVE (even bigger
than you think looks good), and spend time on your keywords. A password book can be for everyone,
but putting up books targeted at a certain demographic can land you a winner.

Keywords to look into:

 Password book for seniors

 Internet password book for kids
 Password diary for girls

3: Address/Birthday Books

Remembering someone’s birthday is hard enough but knowing their exact address is nearly impossible.
This is why combining all of your contacts into a book is a great idea (and they sell well too!). To break
into this niche, pay special attention to your interior. Break it up by a page for
name/address/email/different phone numbers and then calendar pages so that they never miss a
birthday/anniversary.

Keywords to look into:

 Address book for seniors

 Birthday reminder notebook
 Blank contact book
4: Job/Coworker Books

Books in the coworking space can cover a ton of different niches. However, to break into this niche, you
will want to niche down and add in some humor. For example, if you see a book that says “HR Approved
Ways To Tell Co Workers They’re Stupid”, you can niche this down by profession and create your own
cover with simple interiors. This niche is all about the humor and covers.

Keywords to look into:

 Coworker gag gift book (tons of ideas just from this keyword)

5: NICHE Coloring Books

Coloring books are probably the most complicated type of “low content” book you can make, but these
are a clear winner when it comes to sales. To break into this niche, you need to niche down and look
into running AMS ads if you are going into a larger niche with more than 1,000 results on Amazon.
Remember, these type of books are outlines of images where the customer will drag inside of them.
Because of this, make the books a larger size than 6X9!

Keywords to look into:

 Sloth coloring book for kids

 Whale coloring book for adults
 Rainforest coloring book

6: Mileage Logs/Tax Books

Since tax season got pushed back this year because of the pandemic, these type of books are starting to
pick up (but still sell well all year). For any small business, you can actually write off the mileage on your
car when you use it for business on your taxes. These people need mileage look books. To break into this
niche, make it as easy as possible for the end user (small book they can put in the glove console, good
interiors that include a space for notes, starting/end mileage, and have a spot to total everything up for
the month and the year). It would be a good idea to include personal miles separate from business
miles.

Keywords to look into:

 Mileage log book for taxes

 Auto mileage log and expense record
 Mileage tracker for small business

7: Wedding Planners/Budgeting Books

Weddings are extremely expensive (but they don’t have to be)! Lots of people are paying close attention
to their budget and with that comes a lot of planning work. To break into this niche, your interior is what
is going to shine most. Pay close attention to ALL aspects of planning a wedding and include pages in
your interior for every single thing. The more comprehensive you can get, the better your book will do.

Keywords to look into:

 Wedding planner checklist book

 Sarcastic wedding planner
 Wedding budget book
 Wedding on a budget planner

8: Visitor Guest Book

Have you ever been to an Airbnb where there was a visitor guest book to sign? These type of businesses
are popping up all over the place and almost all of them have this type of book laying on the counter
when you walk in. Spend time crafting a great interior that would include the names of the guests, when
they visited, where they came from, why they were on a vacation, and highlights from their trips and
where they recommend future visitors go and check out. Make the cover large and readable and spend
some time niching it down (a guest book for a cabin, a guest book for a place in a big city, etc).

Keywords to look into:

 Visitor guest book

 Sign in log book
 Visitor log book for business

9: Homeschooling/Planner Books

Each and every year there are more and more parents that are homeschooling their children. With this
rising number comes more sales through KDP for low content books in this niche. To break into this
niche, familiarize yourself with what parents are looking for. These can include lesson planners,
homework trackers, attendance trackers and how many hours per day the student is learning.

Keywords to look into:

 Homeschool planner 2020-2021

 Homeschool planner for one student
 Homeschool planner for multiple kids
10: Prayer/Religion Books

Prayer journals do very well if you can get ahead of the competition. In order to stand out in this niche,
look for ways to spruce up not only your cover, but spend the majority of your time on the interior.
Instead of blank lines, focus on creating guided prayers, scripture on every page and outlining the pages
with floral designs.

Keywords to look into:

 52 week guided prayer journal

 Prayer Journal for X (X is a keyword)
 12 month scripture book
