The Socialist Republic of Vietnam has received a Loan from Japan Intemational Cooperation Agency (JICA) toward the cost of the Ben Tre Water Management Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards payments under the contract for Package 2: Construction of Vam ‘Thom and Vam Nuoc Trong Sluices, Ben Tre Water Management Project, resulting from the bidding for which this prequalification is conducted. 2. The Hydraulic Project Investment and Construction Management Board 9 (ICMB9) now intends to prequalify firms for the construction of Vam Thom and Vam Nuoc Trong sluices as part of the project. It is expected that Invitation for Bids will be made in May, 2023. 4. Prequalification will be conducted through procedures in accordance with the applicable Guidelines for Procurement under Japanese ODA Loans, and is open to all Applicants from eligible source countries, as defined in the Prequalification Document. 5. The project has three international competitive sluice construction packages (XL-1, XL-2, XL-3) and construction period of those packages may overlap each other. If the Applicant is awarded to the multiple packages in the bidding stage after the Pre-qualification stage, financial capacity and construction capacity (main construction machinery, key personnel...) of the Applicant shall be combined in the bidding stage to evaluate if it is capable for executing multiple packages at the same time or not.
