HUNTING FOR THE RIGHT B SCHOOL???

Choosing the right B school is quite a dilemma today!!! A few yearsback, it seemed no difficult. There was only one College in Jaipur & just two in Rajasthan. Selection was difficult butthe fee too little Campus placement never an issue Subjects were far few buttext given in abundance Teaching style was simple, not involving any LCD projectors, Laptops& other electronic gadgets There was no Internet to bank upon nor any PCs to make work easy MBA then was just considered as higher studies!!! An extension of your knowledge base Today things have changed The meaning & purpose of any professional degree has been reduced to beinga launch pad or a passport to a great career!!!& MBA as a degree is not unique in this respect. Whenever you ask an MBA aspirant his objective of perusing this degree, the unanimous answer is to get saddled on to a highflying corporate job!!! A job that spins a lots of money A job that s glamorous& takes him places The B schools of today capitalize on this Need of the youngersters Barring the Premier value conscious B schools, MBA colleges today harp more on their placement ability rather than their teaching ability& infrastructure. They lure students into paying hefty college fee under the garb of getting them their dream job!!! They little realize that in today s Global recessionary phase when the jobs are scanty & corporate standards the highest ever, jobs may not be in the offering if their passing out students do not measure-up to the skills required by the corporate There is a subtle difference in what an MBA institute should deliver as compared to any other professional colleges Management is an application science & learning should happen thru experiencing. Here the rule Knowing is believing but experiencing is the naked truth applies!!! This is one reason why practicing managers are more in demand as faculty& case study methodology in vogue. Knowledge is imparted in a proactive manner rather than a reactive manner so that the true meaning of the word Education is justified.Education as a word originates from a Latin word Educatus which means to lead forth or to bring out . Albert Einstein too had once said I do not teach, I create an environment for students to learn!!! After all you are entrusting two crucial years of your life to this institution apart from spending a lot of money Otherwise, at the end of 2 years you will only find yourself just a little older & a lot poorer Disgustingly in the same shape that you were in when you joined this college Jobless, Aimless, shameless!!!
