Manual Revision 1 (2/1/2021)

Model 64 Deployment Case
The Model 64 Deployment case provides a water tight and rugged case protecting the
sensor from harsh environments, reduces effects of temperature variations, and allows
direct installation anywhere in the environment. Simply connect the 45 degree elbows,
pointing down, and the mating cable to the outside of the box, and the sensor is ready to
record high quality data in any environment.

1
Chaparral Folding Wind Shelter
The Chaparral Folding Wind Shelter provides a rugged metal wind noise reduction
shelter for rapid and portable field installations. With dimensions of just 24 inches by 21
inches folded, it is relatively compact and light weight compared to other options, while
also being rugged enough to last in harsh environments for years-long deployments. After
assembly, simply place shelter over infrasound sensor, and stake down with the supplied
stakes. The wind noise will be averaged over the surface of the shelter and the sensor is
ready to record high quality data in any environment.

2
Chaparral Custom Cables
Chaparral Physics can manufacture any custom cable system needed for array
installations, from long single channel cables, to 4 to 1 breakout cables for a variety of
Digitizers. Let us know what your requirements are, and we can meet them, including
using robust Teflon insulated cables.

3
Selection and Use of Infrasound Sensors
Infrasound sensors are generally used in multiple-sensor-array configurations. To obtain
good results the sensors used in an array should be matched for response and phase. All
Chaparral Physics sensors are well matched over their specified pass band for use in
multiple-sensor arrays. Chaparral Physics sensors may differ slightly from each other
outside of their stated band pass. If different sensor types or brands are mixed into a
single array, the useful bandwidth will be limited to the portion where all of the sensor
bandwidths overlap.

Warranty
The equipment is warranted for a period of one year from the original date of shipment as
stated in the Chaparral Physics terms and conditions. For the full terms and conditions of
sale see the document on the Chaparral Physics website. Warranty is void if the unit is
opened without prior express permission of Chaparral Physics. Calibration is void
and the unit may fail to function if opened, tampered with, or adjusted in any manner.
There are no user serviceable parts or adjustments inside the unit.
