The Present Perfect Tense
The present perfect tense is used when you talk of an action which started in the past and is
completed or continued to the present. It consists of two verbs: the helping verb has or have,
the past participle form of the verb.
Has is used with the past participle form of the verb with a singular subject.
Examples:
Gina has waited for her service since ten o’ clock. (she it’s still waiting for it)
She has planned to take Sheryl to her farm. (she’s still planning until now)
Have is used with the past participle form of the verb with a plural subject.
Examples:
For and since are time markers used for the present perfect tense.
Examples:
Since is followed by the point of time when the action was begun.

Already and yet are expressions used with the present perfect tense.
Already is an expression used in affirmative sentences and comes before the main verb.
Examples:
Yet is an expression used in negative sentences and is usually found at the end of the
sentence.
Examples:
Just is an expression which is also used with the present perfect tense. It indicates actions
that have just been completed and are placed before the main verb.
