Spanish Beginner Level Course Syllabus Overview (first 12 weeks)

Main Topics

In the street: asking for directions. In a restaurant: ordering food. Shopping: buying food and presents. Buy things in shops. Giving personal information and introduce somebody. Daily routines (get up, have a shower..) Describing yourself and your family. Hobbies that you like and dislike. Spain and South America today: culture, history, business and famous personalities.

Functional focus

Greetings and farewells. Expressions of politeness. Asking basic questions. Apologising. Describing yourself and your family. Describing houses / flats. Describe things and their location. Grammar focus

Nouns and adjectives: gender forms; plural and singular forms. Articles (el, la los, las) : demonstratives( este,a,os,as) Personal pronouns. Question words, interrogatives (Cmo?, dnde?, qu?...) Spanish alphabet. Numbers: counting in Spanish. Adjectives to describe peoples character. Possessive adjectives. Prepositions of location. Adjectives to describe cities. Adverbs of frequency. Present simple: regular and irregular verbs. Present Tense(-ar/-er/-ir) Reflexive verbs.
