Notes:
[1] Multi-mode receivers (MMR) with GPS are basic in production.
[2] Required for most FANS routes unless VHF is available during the entire route.
[3] For FAA N-registered airplanes only as required by FAA rule, at the time of CPDLC activation/retrofit the
CVR must record ATC/flight crew communications.
[4] It is recommended that owner/operators of airplanes that are not N-registered consult their regulatory
agency to determine if that agency plans to adopt data link recording.
