As trees grow, they help absorb and sink the
carbon that would otherwise contribute to global
heating. Trees (together with all plants) use
sunlight energy to do photosynthesis – a
process that uses carbon dioxide and water to
create energy (glucose) for their cells.
Recycling helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions
by reducing energy consumption. Using recycled
materials to make new products reduces the need for
virgin materials. This avoids greenhouse gas
emissions that would result from extracting or mining
virgin materials.
Turn off electronic devices
Simply turning off your television,
DVD player, stereo, and computer,
when you're not using them, will save
you thousands of pounds of carbon
dioxide a year.
Use less hot water
It takes a lot of energy to heat water.
Use less hot water by taking shorter
and cooler showers and washing
your clothes in cold or warm instead
of hot water (more than 500 pounds
of carbon dioxide saved per year).
Orion, led a tragic life that ended when he stepped on a scorpion, known as Scorpius. The gods
felt sorry for him so they put him and his faithful dogs, Canis Major and Canis Minor, into the sky.

Sagittarius is commonly thought

to represent a centaur, a war-like creature with the torso of a man and the body of a horse.
Sagittarius is most often associated with Crotus, the son of Pan (the goat-god) and Eupheme (the
Muses' nurse).

Aquarius was associated with

the annual flood of the Nile the banks were said to flood when Aquarius put his jar into the river,
beginning spring. In the Greek tradition, the constellation came to be represented simply as a
single vase from which a stream poured down to Piscis Austrinus.

Virgo is typically linked to Dike,

the Greek goddess of justice, and Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, the harvest goddess.
According to Greek mythology, the earth experienced eternal spring until the god of the
underworld abducted the spring maiden Persephone.
