LockBox

“LockBox” is an innovative way to protect your online deliveries from “parcel pirates”. With an
increasing trend in online orders, there has been a rising number of packages stolen off of
peoples porches. Our product is a simple, effective way to prevent stolen packages and provide
reassurance to buyers that their package will be delivered securely

The box will aesthetically appealing, and can be opened only by a passcode, which is given to
the courier through delivery instructions. The packages are then placed into the box and
automatically locked, while providing the buyer with a notification. The next delivery driver would
be given a new, unique code for another parcel.

We would like to keep the costs to manufacture the box to a minimum, there are other delivery
boxes out on the market right now that are very heavy duty but cost $500-$1000 which we
believe is the reason for lack people owning them. Our goal is to get the price down to a range
of $100-$250 on customer end.

Current box dimensions: 24in W x 36in L x 24in H with one door at top for products to be placed
into. Similar to this

We’ve been looking into different materials for the box and are currently considering high
density polypropylene or some form of reinforced steel. Our belief is that the box itself will be a
deterrent to the porch pirates, and thus if it can withstand a simple attempt to get into it like a
kick, it will be strong enough. We are not trying to make it as strong as a heavy duty safe or
anything of the sort.

We currently need help with calculating expected costs for the manufacturing process of the box, and
are currently undecided on outsourcing or manufacturing ourselves.

We are wondering if you could give insight towards:

• Methods of production for box using polypropylene versus reinforced steel

• Opinion on which material would be more efficient
• Machinery required to manufacture them ourselves
• If you know any manufacturers for possible outsourcing of box production in the area we could
get in contact with.

We have an initial $100,000 of seed capital to start and can plowback cashflows from sales as we see fit
in order to continue production. We are also designing and producing the locking mechanism and
related software ourselves so that is not a concern.
