AIRVAN SPECIFICATIONS

POWERPLANT
Lycoming engine IO-540-K1A5
300BHP @ 2700RPM
4200lbs because of cargopod
3 blade Hartzell Propeller
Variable pitch
Six cylinder, horizontally opposed, fuel injected and air cooloed

AIRFRAME
Fixed undercarriage
All metal
8 seater including the pilot
Rudder is direct link (scissor link and push rod directly from rudders)
Stall warning horn is always on coz its a hot bus
2 Cargo pods , maximum of 200kg combined (front 120kg, back 100kg)
3 exits, two front doors and 1 rear sliding door)
High wing
Differential airlerons
Slotted flaps
Plenum prevents cross feeding and excessive fuel loss

LIMITATIONS
Max RPM is 2700 for two minutes except in the climb
Max manifold pressure is full throttle

FUEL SYSTEM
Total fuel is 340l
Usable is 332l
Unusable is 8l
Sump tank is 9l
100ll or 100
There is no fuel selector
Fuel is gravity fed from the two integral tanks down to the fuel sump, then
through the fuel shut off valve to the engine driven fuel pump which is then
injected
into the cylinders.

OIL SYSTEM
Uses a Wet sump (Where the sump is used as an intergral oil resevoir)
Dry Sump(Where oil is pumped from a shallow sump to an external resevoir)
Maximum oil is 12 quarts
Minimum safe is 2.8 quarts

Oil is drawn from the sump through an oil strainer to the engine driven oil pump.
From the pump to a thermostatically comtrolled bypass valve.
If the oil is cold, it goes straight to the oil filter and if its hot, it goes
through the
oil cooler then to the filter. Filtered oil enters the pressure relief valve that
regulates the oil pressure by
allowing excessive oil to to return to the sump while the remaining oil is
circulated to various engine components.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Battery is 12V
The system is 14V
It has two buses
There are two spark plugs in each cylinder
BUS 1 connects to the battery and BUS 2 connects to both the alternator field and
battery
BUS 1 provides power for landing lights, COMM 1, GPS and instrument lights.
An over relay is fitted so that it trips the alternator if the output exceeds 16V

PITOT STATIC
Supplies RAM(TOTAL) PRESSURE to the airspeed indicator
Supplies static pressure to the airspeed indicator, altimeter and VSI

BRAKE SYSTEM
Single disc and hydraulic actuated on each main undercarriage wheel.

VACUUM SYSTEM
An engine driven vacuum pump provides suction for the AH indicator
