Read this story and answer the questions that follow.
Once Hare and Elephant became very good friends, so they decided to live
together. They shared a house, and they shared their food. At first they were happy.
But Elephant grew jealous. Even though Hare was so small, he ate half the food.
This meant Elephant was always hungry. So, Elephant came up with a plan to trick
Hare. He went down to the river and covered himself with leaves and mud. When
Hare saw him, he thought he was looking at a monster! Hare decided to kill this
monster who was stealing their food. He made a spear and stabbed the monster in
the chest. When he looked closely at a monster, he saw it was his friend Elephant.
“This will teach me never to trust anyone ,” he thought, sadly.
