5 Tighten the central crankshaft bearing cap bolts (1) in the following stages, 1st stage 100 Nm 2nd stage 200 Nm 3rd stage 300 to 330 Nm 4th stage 90° to 100° angie of rotation 6 Measure the shank lenath of the side crankshalt bearing cap bolts (2) (Wwelve-sided bolts re-usable up to max. 86.5 mm), and tighten in the following stages: Hexagon bolt 80 Nm, Twolve-sided bolt 1st stage 80 to 90 Nm 2nd stage 90° to 100° angle of rotation 7 Position internal measuring instrument 100 ~ 160 mn @ and dial gauge with micrometer 100 ~ 125 mm to the zero size of the crankshaft journals. Dial gauge 001 589 $3 21 00 8 Measure crankshaft bearing bore with internal measuring instrument at three points (vertically and each 30° up and down from the separation point Dial gauge 001 589 53.21 00 Note The figures stated in the table must be maintained, 9 Bolt on crankshatt bearing caps again. Fitting new bearings and install Note Bearing shell halves with a dark back must be installed at the cap end as they are specially treated for high pressures. 1 Blow oil passages in crankcase clean with compressed air, working from the oil pump end. 2 Clean crankshaft, bearings and bearing seats with shammy leather. Clean oil passages of the crankshaft with a wire brush and blow clean with compressed air 3° Check the hardness of the crankshaft with hardness tester.
