IFSC Code of Axis Bank

What Is An IFSC Code?
IFSC stands for Indian Financial System Code. This is a
unique code composed of alphabets and numbers
assigned to each branch of each bank in India. This is
essentially a code which enables transfer of funds
electronically.

These codes are used for NEFT purposes.

Axis Bank IFSC Code

Axis Bank IFSC Code is a unique code assigned to all
Axis bank branches in the country. It enables Axis Bank
account holders to send and receive money
electronically. Axis Bank IFSC Code is assigned by RBI
(Reserve Bank of India) to each branch as it helps in
carrying out RTGS and NEFT transactions smoothly.

The online transactions have made banking easier and

more convenient. Axis Bank IFSC Code helps to make an
online transaction to an Axis Bank account. Every Axis
Bank branch has a unique Axis Bank IFSC Code which
helps in identifying the source bank and the destination
bank while processing a transaction.

IFSC Code is used to make electronic payments through

National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT), Immediate
Payment Service (IMPS) and Real Time Gross
Settlement (RTGS) system. All these transaction services
have been launched by the Reserve Bank of India, and an
exclusive code, known as IFSC code, is assigned to each
branch so that these transactions can be carried out
smoothly.

NEFT

NEFT stands for National Electronic Funds

Transfer.
NEFT transactions aren’t real-time & are settled in
batches. A NEFT settlement takes place with all the
NEFT transactions that are received till a particular
cut-off period.
If transactions are initiated post the cut-off time,
then they will be processed by the bank on the next
working day.
There isn’t any minimum or maximum amount limit
for a NEFT transaction.
RTGS

It stands for Real-Time Gross Settlement. It is a

system wherein funds are transferred from source
bank to destination bank in real-time. Fund
settlement in "real-time" means that the money is
transferred almost instantly. Once an RTGS is
processed, it is irreversible.
The minimum amount limit for an RTGS transfer is
2 lakhs and there is no maximum limit.
RTGS is ideal for transactions in which the fund
value is high and has to be cleared on an urgent
basis.

Axis Bank offers NEFT and RTGS service the as per the
