COMMON MISTAKES FROM UNIT 2-3 TEST

1. I would like to know how this document is done since from the beginning until the last approval.

2. “…will receive auditors from (the) GCP Global Roche group.” (because it says “group”, we then need an
article for all single nouns. Otherwise, if it had only said “GCP Global Roche”, you wouldn’t need an
article because it sounds like a proper name.

3. “…will perform an audit in on our documents.”

4. “They will stay on our site during all week.” “They will stay at our site for the whole week.”

5. “…essential to use special bins to for toxic waste.”

“to” usually denotes some type of transfer/exchange


“for” usually denotes some type of benefit=good

6. “This memo is to advise you (or “all staff members”; “all labtechnicians” etc.) that ….”
Some verbs are followed by a direct object and the infinitive:
advise, ask, encourage, invite, order, persuade, remind, tell, warn,

7. “Elaborate a document” We don’t use the word in this way in English. “Prepare a document; Draft
(Create) a document; Write up

8. If there is a question (singular) or If there are any questions(plural).

9. I have a doubt (I don`t believe you) vs I have a question.

10. “I suggest you to repeat the training on the procedure with the technician.”
“My recommendation is to training train …”
