A GREEN-GLAZED RED POTTERY TRIPOD VESSEL AND
COVER, LIAN, WESTERN HAN DYNASTY (206 B.C. – 8 A.D.)
The vessel raised on three kneeling bear supports and moulded around
the sides with archers on horseback, immortals (xian), and various
animals including monkeys, tigers, deer and boars, as well as a pair of
mask and ring handles, the cover moulded in high relief with concentric
mountains interspersed with further animals and a large kneeling
immortal, the green glaze extensively degraded to a silvery iridescence.

The bowl is freely carved to the interior with a lotus medallion reserved
against a combed ground, covered overall in a creamy-white glaze falling
short of the foot ring to reveal the greyish-buff body.

A PAINTED CIZHOU DEEP BOWL AND COVER,
JIN DYNASTY-YUAN DYNASTY, 13TH-14TH CENTURY
The deep U-shaped bowl decorated in dark brown on a white slip under
a clear glaze with a band of feathery leaves between single line borders,
the glaze and slip falling short of the foot ring to expose the pale grey
stoneware body burnt buff colour in the firing, the interior also covered in
slip and glazed, the domed cover with flat top similarly decorated. With a

A RARE LONGQUAN CELADON VASE MEIPING,
MING DYNASTY, 15TH CENTURY
The stoutly potted high-shouldered body tapers to a spreading foot with
square-cut rim, and the rounded shoulder rises to a short conical neck.
The vase is covered overall with a mottled glaze of soft olive-green tone.

Undecorated Longquan celadon meiping dating to the early Ming
dynasty are rare. An example of identical size to the present vase in the
National Palace Museum, Taipei, was included in the exhibition Green-
Longquan Celadon of the Ming Dynasty, Taipei, 2009, pp. 132-133, no.
65. A meiping and cover dated to the Yuan or early Ming dynasty is
illustrated in Selected Treasures of Chinese Art: Min Chiu Society Thirtieth
Anniversary Exhibition, Hong Kong, 1990, no. 125. An example in the
Tokyo National Museum is published in Chinese Ceramics, Illustrated
Catalogues of Tokyo National Museum, Tokyo, 1965, p. 95, no. 387.

A DING TYPE XUANZHOU FOLIATE RIMMED BOWL,
LATE TANG-FIVE DYNASTIES (907-960)
The well-potted dish has an undulating foliate rim and is covered overall
in a translucent white glaze, pooling to a pale ivory tone on the underside
and stopping irregularly above the short foot.

Xuanzhou ware is the official ware for Southern Tang court. A similar
example was unearthed in 1950 from the tomb of Li Bian the last ruler of
the Southern Tang dynasty in Nanjing, Jiangsu province. Another similar

The bowl has deep, rounded sides finely carved on the exterior with lotus
flowers and is covered overall with a greenish-blue glaze which pools to

NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
with widely flared sides, the interior is finely incised with petals radiating
from the centre. The bowl is covered inside and out with a glaze of
ivory tone that continues over the shallow ring foot on to the base.
The unglazed mouth rim is mounted with a metal band. With a fitted box.

Of compressed globular form, the deep rounded sides cast with two bands
of twisted ropes, divided by a raised fillet and set at the rim with two loop
handles, all supported on three mask-headed waisted legs, the low domed
cover cast with two similar bands, and encircled by three evenly-spaced
recumbent buffaloes, the patina of greenish tone.

A CARVED WOOD FOLDING YOKE-BACK SIDE CHAIR
JIAOYI, EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
The central curved splat is carved with three cartouches, the top with
precious objects amid wisps of vapour, the central cartouche with a
Daoist scene of a deer looking up at a monkey clambering up a gnarled
pine tree below a crane holding a peach spray in its beak, the lower
cartouche with a Buddhist lion and a phoenix, all surmounted by a yoke-
back top, framed by two curved supports reaching down to the X-frame
raised atop the rectangular feet with the front apron reinforced with
metal mounts, the fabric seat later.

工诗文,善书画,精鉴赏。书法超越诸家,以行楷称绝一代,与邢
侗、米万钟、张瑞图并称“晚明四家”。其书法自成一家,对明末清初
书风影响很大。山水师董、巨,以黄、倪为宗,以禅论画,有“画分
南北宗”之说,著有《画禅室随笔》等。
鑑藏者簡介:孫煜峰 (1901-1967),曾用名壽熙,字煜峰,一字漱
廬,弘一齋,江蘇江陰人。民國十四年起在上海經商,曾任上海市房
地產公司副經理、市工商聯副秘書長、中國民主建國會上海市常委、
上海市政協第三、第四屆常委等職。三十年代開始收藏文物,對字畫
有較高的鑑賞能力。 1961年起先後5次向上海博物館捐獻了書畫、青
銅器、陶瓷器等文物656件。他還先後向故宮博物院、南京博物院、
廣東省博物館等捐贈過文物,其中現藏故宮博物院的元王蒙《葛稚川
移居圖》為罕見珍品。
