‘SUBJECT: CALL FOR CONCEPTS FROM MUST FACULTY STAFF AND POSTGRADUATE
STUDENTS
RICE has organized a symposium that will connect and empower enthusiastic and proactive
researchers, innovators and practitioners from Meru University to work together on new
ways to solve complex global challenges. By putting collaboration and interdisciplinary
thinking at the heart of development, it aims to catalyze creative solutions that deliver
impact and build a global lasting community with integrity at its heart, equipped to achieve a
sustainable and inclusive society.
This highly interactive and curated symposia will bring together academics, MUST staff and
policymakers around a single topic related to the SDGs in a welcoming and inspiring format.
Attendees will be encouraged to participate and network with others during this interactive
event and build partnerships that are diverse and collaborative. This symposium will be a
great forum to share knowledge both internally and externally.
After the symposium, seed grants of up to KES 150,000 over one year will be awarded to
successful bids from the symposia, led by a Senior MUST faculty researcher and designed to
strengthen synergy developed at the symposia, These projects must be led by the needs of
the community and adaptive to the nuances of the specific challenge that it aims to address.
