Sheathing used for MA system
1) Polyethylene sheathing
Figure 13 and Table 15 show examples of the shape and dimensions of polyethylene sheathing used as a
protective tube for MA system.
In addition, according to the guidelines of the JAPAN PRESTRESSED CONCRETE INSTITUTE (JPCI),
when using polyethylene sheathing for a multi-strand main direction cable, the minimum bending radius
must be 200D or more (D: nominal diameter of the sheath), and the cable must be tensioned at a
temperature of 50°C or less as a standard. However, some products can be used with a minimum bending
radius of 100D, so please check with sheathing manufacturer.
