Objectives
 Complete the network documentation.
 Perform basic device configurations on a router and a switch.
 Verify connectivity and troubleshoot any issues.

Scenario
Your network manager is impressed with your performance in your job as a LAN technician. She would like you to
demonstrate your ability to configure a router that connects two LANs. Your tasks include configuring basic settings on a
router and a switch using the Cisco IOS. You will also configure IPv6 addresses on network devices and hosts. You will
then verify the configurations by testing end-to-end connectivity. You goal is to establish connectivity between all
devices.
Note: The VLAN1 interface on S1 will not be reachable over IPv6.
In this activity you will configure the R1 router, S2 switch, and the PC hosts.
Note: Packet Tracer will not score some configured values, however these values are required to accomplish full
connectivity in the network.

Requirements

 Provide the missing information in the Addressing Table.

 Name the router as your_surname and the second switch as your_name. You will not be able to access
the S1 switch.

 Configure the usual IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for the router (look for networks connected to the device):
o Assign to R1 interfaces the first IPv4 address of each connected network.
o Assign to R1 interfaces the first IPv6 global unicast address of each connected network.
o Assign to R1 interfaces the IPv6 link local address FE80::1 of each connected network.

 Configure IPv4 and IPv6 addressing for the S2 switch.

o The last byte of the IPv4 address is the decimal number 20 and the last hextet of the IPv6 address is the
hexadecimal number 20.
Copy and paste here all the command sequence that you use.

 The hosts are partially configured. Complete the IPv4 addressing, and fully configure the IPv6 addresses according to the
Addressing table.
o PC1 IPv4 address has 101 decimal in its last byte.
o PC1 IPv6 address has 101 hexadecimal in its last hextet.
o PC2 IPv4 address has 102 decimal in its last byte.
o PC2 IPv6 address has 102 hexadecimal in its last hextet.
o PC3 IPv4 address has 103 decimal in its last byte.
o PC3 IPv6 address has 103 hexadecimal in its last hextet.
o PC4 IPv4 address has 104 decimal in its last byte.
o PC4 IPv6 address has 104 hexadecimal in its last hextet.

NAME SUBSTITUTION
Names R1, S1, S2, PC1, PC2, PC3 and PC4 are all variable and Packet Tracer assigns them randomly. Identify those
correctly assuming usual configurations.
