All I Want Is a Friendship Poem

by Alice Cordy

All I want is a friendship,

which is all about mate ship.
A friend who you can trust,
which is surely a must.

One who shows full respect,

even though neither is perfect.
Always being honest,
no matter what the cost.

A friend whom you can confide in,

even though all you want to do is subside within.
A friend whom willing to listen,
and not feel threaten.

Able to talk for hours,

no matter how many tears are showered.
Laugh about the most embarrassing things,
even though we will never be queens or kings.

Lending a shoulder for someone to cry on,

and arms to hold for that desiring affection.
Always forgiving each other,
no matter how stormy the weather.

Friends that do not question or judge,

or even hold a grudge.
Friendship is something that should be cherished,
not for one’s selfishness.

As friendship is worth a pot of gold,

not brought or sold.
It is earned through commitment for each other,
a friendship is there for every recovery.
All I want is friendship.
