The Special Education Coordinator for Sierra Sands. I coordinate all services through the district
for our outside providers. Oversee the hiring and training implementation of paraprofessionals in
the classroom setting. Work with program specialists to ensure that timelines are being met for
IEP’s and servicing of students. Assist the director of special education in giving directives and

08/2021-Present IEP Administrator | Sage Oak Charter Schools
In addition to teaching this school year I have been able to step into the role of administration for
IEP meetings. This role has allowed for further collaboration with colleagues and families that
are not on my caseload. Being able to support teachers as they navigate the legal bindings of the
IEP document and giving parents peace of mind by answering their questions in a thoughtful and
understandable manner. Finally, reading IEPs and working with SAI teachers to finalize the IEPs
and obtain signatures from the team to stay in compliance.

Teaching Highlights
03/2021-Present Assessment Coordinator/IEP Administrator | Sage Oak Charter Schools
During this time, I have created assessment plans for initial and triennial assessments in special
education and collaborated with families to complete the assessments. Once assessments are
completed I provide a qualitative data statement for the psychologist to determine the student's
academic needs. As an IEP administrator, I sit in on IEP meetings as the note taker and
administrator to speak on the legalities of the IEP and answer clarifying questions for the parents.
I support the special education teacher to ensure they are providing a sound IEP.

08/2018-02/2021 Middle School SAI Teacher | iShine | Springs Charter Schools

During this time, I completed an internship while being enrolled in my special education
program. I have worked carefully to build relationships and rapport with my students and their
parents. In addition, I developed a specialized data collection base to ensure monitoring of
student growth in goals and help drive building goals for annual and triennial IEPs. I work
closely with general education teachers to develop modified curriculum and support teachers in
facilitating learning with the students individual IEP in mind. I manage calendaring and running
all IEP meetings for my caseload working closely with related service providers to ensure we
provide a quality IEP to the families. I utilize a co teaching model with the general education
teachers to support students in the classroom.
08/2016-06/2018 Fifth Grade Teacher | Baypoint Preparatory Academy | Bay Group Charter
During this time, I had taught a rigorous college prep curriculum based on the California
Common Core State Standards, in a flexible student centered learning environment. In addition, I
consistently collected data on the growth and progress of my students in order to support their
individualized education goals. Further, I utilized a blended learning station rotation model to
educate my students on a daily basis and offer them the supports that they need.
08/2015 – 05/2016 Fourth Grade Teacher | Cawston Elementary School | Hemet Unified School
District
During this time, I was trained in the DII model of teaching in which I worked closely with a
teaching coach to implement and revise my approach to teaching to improve student engagement
to close the achievement gap. I had the opportunity to train my fourth grade colleagues in using
educational programs to help our students have a deeper understanding of the material being
presented to them. I spent rigorous hours putting together webquests for the students to practice
inquiry based learning in all subject areas. I participated in several in service training days on
implementing guided reading into the classroom. This helped me to build my students'
instructional reading level as well as develop important skills in independent reading and
comprehension.
