The story begins with a mother who was really worried about her son. She was called
Klara or Mrs Hitler, she didn't believe that she had a son so she asked frequently if he was
fine. She asked about the size of her baby. Later she says that she had three more
children but all of them died. The story shows us that the mother and her husband, who
was called Alois Hitler, were new in the town. The husband was always drunk but the
young woman was gentle and religious. She wasn’t happy. Her husband was the third
marriage. In eighteen months she had lost her three children. That son is the fourth. The
others called: Gustav, Otto and Ida. The first one was a lovely boy. The second one was a
boy too. The third one was a little girl and she died when she was two years old, a few
days before Christmas. When Ida died, the mother was already four months pregnant. So
after Ida’s funeral, she shouted that she didn't want to have the baby. Then the husband
said to her that he has good news. Klara was very sad and she couldn't believe that after
all he said: “good news”. The husband had a new job in Braunau and he considered that
as a new start for his wife. Mr Hitler said: "Why do all my children have to be so small and
weak? All I'm saying is, why can't they be better examples of human beings?"; when Otto
was born. And three days after that, Otto died. Then the Doctor asked for the name and
Klara said Adolf because it has a certain similarity to Alois. When the barman’s wife gave
Adolf to Klara, at first she didn’t want to see but then she slowly saw him. Klara told Alois
that Adolf must live and she wanted God to protect him.

very strong woman because even though she lost she continued with her life.
● Doctor: he is a very good person because he tried to reassure Klara and her
husband that Adolf was fine.
● Mr. Hitler: he is an ambiguous character because on one hand, he was always
drunk even at his daughter's funeral and on the other hand he worried about his
children when they were worn and a new start for them.
● Adolf: he is a baby who survived.

7.- Theme: (Summarize in a sentence or phrase the kind of story this is) NO

Time: Birthday of Hitler
Place: Braunau, Austria.

10.- Rating: (Your personal score for the story plus a justification for such a mark. It must be
a paragraph, not just a sentence)
I put a 10 because I really liked it. I loved how the author guided us through the story. I
mean that at first no one imagined that it the baby was but it was leaving some clues
throughout the story. First, they named Mrs Hitler then they said Mr Hitler and then when
they were talking about the child's name they said Adolf Hitler. The authors wanted to us
fell sorry about that family but it was Adolf, who killed million of people. And I really liked
his choice of title because the story was about a child who survives and could live. But
this baby generates a bad fate for humanity.

The story is about a girl called Lucy waiting for her gift that seemed quite cute from her
stepmother. The story tells us that Lucy had to get up early, at 7 o'clock, if she didn't wake
up, her stepmother would knock on her bedroom door, disrupting her morning dream.
She also had to be obedient and go to church on Sundays so she had to wake up at 6.30
o’clock. Lucy had to cycle three miles to the Church. She had gifts like shoes and dresses
for Christmas and her other birthday. She hated getting up early, hated the shoes and
dresses her stepmother gave her. Also deep down she hated her stepmother but a good
Catholic does not hate so Lucy tried to kid herself that she loved that woman. When she
saw the brand H Samuel Lucy knew it was a jewelry and it could be a necklace, earrings
or an initial with a letter L for Lucy. She was really excited, she felt important and she for
the first time on her thirteenth birthday got a good present. But when she opened it, she
saw a small ladies´ alarm clock that was set to 7 o'clock.

I put a 7 because I like it but I don't like the end. I mean, she hated a lot of things that her
stepmother forced her to do. And when her stepmother seemed to give her something
nice, it ended up being an alarm clock. So Lucy got excited for nothing. For me it was very
disappointing.

Chapter 1: The Road to Castle Dracula & Chapter 2: A prisoner in the Castle:
The main character is Jonathan Harker. He is a lawyer and finds houses in England
for the rich people who live in foreign countries; and he lives in London. He is going to tell
us his very strange and terrible story. At the beginning in 1875, he received a letter from
Transylvania, from a rich man, Count Dracula. In the letter, he said that he wants an old
house with a large garden in London and it doesn't matter the price. Jonathan found a
house like that and Dracula bought it. But he had to sign some papers so he invited
Jonathan to Transylvania. First, Jonathan didn 't want to go, he was busy and he was
going to get married in autumn with Mina (he didn't want to go until they married). But
finally, Mina convinced him to go. He went to Transylvania at the end of April. On 4th May,
he arrived in Bistritz, a small town in Transylvania. From there, the coach would take him
to Borgo Pass and then the Count´s carriage would take him to the Castle. In the
meantime, he had 6 free hours so he decided to eat in the inn. Jonathan asked the
innkeeper about Dracula, the innkeeper didn't say anything and walked away. The
persons who were, upon hearing the name Dracula, were silent. Then all of them started
to talk about him and repeated the word “vampire”. Jonathan searched for that word in
the book that Mina gave to him but he didn't believe in that type of thing. He was leaving
the inn and the innkeeper gave him a gold cross in a chain. Then he was in the coach and
started the journey. Sometimes he heard wolves howling. Later, they arrived at Borgo
Pass and Dracula's carriage was waiting for him. The wolves howled more constantly than
the other journey and saw that as they went up, the light was disappearing. Finally, he
arrived in Castle Dracula.
Dracula was a very tall old man, terribly strong, his face and hair were white and
his hands were cold as ice. Drácula guided him to a room without windows and from
there he could see two open doors. Through one door, was a bedroom and from the
other, food and drink on a table. He went to eat. He noticed that the Castle was
completely silent but outside the wolves were howling and Count Dracula liked it. Then
he felt very ill. Jonathan and Dracula sat together near the fire, so Jonatahan saw
Dracula's eyes red and perceived an unpleasant smell. Also he saw Dracula´s lips red and
his teeth were long and sharp. Then he went to bed and had terrible dreams. When he
woke up, saw a note from Dracula on the table. In that note, he said he was going to be
outside all day, and Jonathan could go everywhere except the locked room and he must
not try to open them. Jonathan was totally alone in the castle, so he spent his time
reading about England in the Dracula´s library. In the evening, Dracula arrived. They
talked a lot but Jonathan was very tired and he fell asleep. He sat up and Dracula was
leaning over him, his breath had a terrible smell. Then Jonathan went to bed but, again,
he had strange dreams. He woke up and decided to shave his beard, however there was
no mirror. Jonathan had his own mirror. Drácula suddenly appeared and Jonathan got
surprised and cut himself. Dracula saw Jonathan´s blood and he made a strange sound
and moved his hands towards his throat. His eyes shone with red fire. When he touched
Jonathan´s cross, the fire in his face disappeared. Jonathan couldn't see Dracula's face in
his mirror. Then Dracula threw it out of the open window and he left. Jonathan was alone
again. The windows were high up in the castle walls. He considered himself a prisoner.

Chapter 3: The vampires & Chapter 4: A visit to Hythe:

Jonathan wanted to go home, he asked every evening to leave but Dracula never
answered. One day, he got into a room that was unlocked and he felt tired. He lay down
on a couch. When he woke up, he saw three young women around him. He wanted to
touch him and kiss him. His body felt heavy and he couldn't move. One of them moved
towards him and her sharp teeth touched his throat. Dracula pulled the woman away from
him. Jonathan fainted and when he woke up, he was in his room. It is 19th May, Dracula
told Jonathan to write three letters with all Dracula said and Mina will receive it. In the last
letter put the date 29th June, so Jonathan knew that Dracula would kill him. It is 29th
June, Jonathan decided to follow Dracula to his bedroom. Dracula locked his door.
Jonathan heard a window open and he could see Dracula's bedroom. He saw Dracula
come out of the window and move down the wall. His black cloak looked like huge wings.
Jonathan searched for some information in the book of Transylvania, they said that
vampires hunted and killed at night, also they can transform into animals but during the
day, they lost their powers. So Jonathan waited until Dracula arrived. He climbed out of
the window and he went into the room, there were a lot of golden coins. Then he went
down and arrived at an old chapel, which was full of wooden boxes, in one of them was
Count Dracula. He had fresh blood in his lips and a terrible smell of blood. Jonathan
heard the sound of many feet and he hid. The men were hammering down the lids of the
boxes. Dracula was on his way to England, so Jonathan must escape. He ran to the open
window, climbed out of the window and moved slowly down the wall.
Mina was worried about Jonathan. Mina´s friend, Lucy, invited Mina to Hythe. Mina
decided to go. On 8th August, the weather changed. The next day Lucy´s servant told
them that a russian ship wrecked on the shore. First, there was nothing on the ship but
when it touched the shore, a dog jumped and ran away. Another thing is that it was full of
boxes and one of them broke open, which had earth in it. In the evening, Mina heard a
noise and woke up, she didn't see Lucy in the bed. So Mina went to the churchyard to
look for her. There was Lucy and another person, Mina only saw two red eyes and a white
face. But when she went closer to her, there wasn't a person. Mina put Lucy into the bed
and saw two red marks in Lucy's throat. Since that moment, Lucy was pale, thin and white.
Mina wanted to write a letter to Lucy´s husband, Arthur, who was in Amsterdam with Van
Helsing, but Lucy didn't want to because she didn't want to worry him. One night, Mina
saw Lucy very close to the window and a black bird, the two marks were still there. On
19th August, Mina received a letter from a hospital in Budapest that said Jonathan was
safe. Mina went there, she and Jonathan met at once and they were married on 1st
September in Budapest. On 18th September, they arrived in London. They were in the
streets and Jonathan saw Dracula with a young woman. Mina saw Dracula´s lips red and
sharp, white teeth. When they arrived at their home, the servant gave Mina a telegram
from Arthur, she read it and said that Lucy had died. Mina sends a telegram to Arthur to
stay with them. And that night, Jonathan told Mina all about Castle Dracula.
Chapter 5: How Lucy died & Chapter 6: The beautiful Lady of Hythe:
In this chapter, Arthur told how Lucy died. First, Lucy was very ill, she was pale and
thin, then she had weird dreams like red eyes and golden dust. In the meantime,
Jonathan was relating about the things Arthur told with the things he lived in the Castle.
Then Arthur told about how The Professor, Van Helsing, was helping Lucy. Lucy needed a
blood transfusion and Arthur gave his blood. Then The Professor put garlic in the room.
One day, Arthur got in the house and saw the professor sleeping, so he was afraid and
went up to Lucy's bedroom and saw the window broken and Lucy in the bed without the
garlic. She had a slow and strange voice. Finally, she “died”. But Jonathan and Mina
believe that maybe Lucy will transform into a vampire.
In the newspaper was this title: “The beautiful lady of hytle ''. They told about the
disappearance of some young children but then they were safe. They had the same story,
they met a beautiful lady with long black hair. So Jonathan, Mina and the Professor
believe that the lady was Lucy. Then Jonathan told Arthur what happened at the Castle,
because of that Arhur believed Jonathan. That night Arthur, Jonathan and The Professor
went to the churchyard and when they opened Lucy's coffin, the body was not there. A
couple of hours later, they saw Lucy, she was the same (in physical aspects) except the
eyes were very red. Then she was cruel, and the Professor held the stake and hammered
it down many times, now she is really dead. Finally, Van Helsing and Jonathan cut off
Lucy's head and they closed the coffin lid and hammered it down. They must kill Dracula
to live in peace.

Chapter 7: The House of the Vampire & Chapter 8: The Fight of The Vampire:
Arthur, Jonathan and Van Helsing went back to London because all the
information about Dracula's house was in Jonathan´s office. But when they arrived it was
not there, Dracula took it. So the Professor hypnotized Jonathan, he could remember all
the things he lived in, in that things were the name of the station, Purfleet. However,
Dracula intercepts the visions of Jonathan. Arthur, Van Helsing and Jonathan had to go to
Dracula's house and left Mina in the house. They told her to don´t leave the house. The
three friends found Dracula's house and they came in through one broken window. In one
room, there were all the boxes inside of each one that had earth and they would replace
the earth with holy bread. Jonathan and Arthur had one more box to open. But Van
Helsing shouted down to them that Dracula was coming back. They started to run and
Dracula caught up with them. The Count was going to attack Jonathan but Van Helsing
put a cross in front of Dracula. Then they went to Jonathan´s house because Mina was in
danger. When they arrived, Jonathan saw Mina on the balcony with a person leaning over
her. It was Dracula, he was very angry, he cut his chest and Mina had to drink his blood.
The Professor held his cross up high and, at the same time, a cloud covered the moon.
When the moonlight shone again, Dracula was gone. Mina was terribly afraid and she told
how Count Dracula caught her. Dracula drank Mina´s blood and she drank Dracula's
blood. Van Helsing hypnotised Mina, and she told that Dracula was leaving the country.
If Drácula reached Castle Dracula, he could rest and grow strong again. So they
must to destroid him before he arrives at his castle. Arthur and Jonathan discovered that
Dracula left in a ship, Queen Catherine for Varna. The three friends started to make their
plans and The Professor told Jonathan not to tell Mina about the plans, and he finally
agreed. They agreed to go by land because it is faster than by ship. Mina listened to
everything and she wanted to go with them because the Professor could hypnotise her
and know where Dracula was. Mina said that Dracula´s power was too strong over her,
they must kill her, if she transformed into their enemy. In the second week of October, the
four friends arrive in Varna. Everyday, Van Helsing hypnotised Mina only during the day.
And always Mina said the same thing and they knew that Dracula didn't arrive. Arthur
went to the port, as always, and asked about Queen Catherine, the person answered and
told him that the ship had arrived at Galatz, at one o'clock of that day. The four friends
didn't know what to do, so Van Helsing hypnotized Mina but she couldn't give any
important information.

Chapter 9: The Return to Castle Dracula

The friends arrive at Galatz. Mina has gotten worse every day. Dracula was travelling up
the River Seruth. Arhur and Jonathan followed Dracula's ship by river and Van Helsing
with Mina went by land to Castle Dracula. On their journey, Mina´s face was changing and
she looked like a vampire. Near Borgo Pass, The Professor took some holy bread and
put it like a circle around Mina and himself, because they were safe inside the circle. In
the mist appeared the three vampires that were in Castle Dracula. They invited Mina all
night to come out of the circle but she stayed inside and the vampires couldn't get in. In
the morning, Van Helsing went to the Castle and left Mina alone. When he arrived, he saw
that the door was wide open. At the moment he got in, he couldn't breathe because of
the terrible smell. He went to the chapel and put holy bread in Dracula's tomb, which was
empty. Then he saw the three vampires, he hammered them through the vampire's heart
and cut off their heads. Then Mina saw Jonathan and Arthur, they were on horses and
they reached Dracula´s cart. They hammered the stake in Dracula's heart and cut his
throat. There was no blood, only heap dust. Finally, the Vampire was dead, they could live
without fear and in peace.

Chapter 1: A Man and A Boy & Chapter 2: SPAT

The main character is Will, he was thirty-six years old. He was a very cool person. He
never worked in his life, because his father had written a very successful Christmas song.
Many famous singers had made recordings of this song, and each time Will´s father had
received royalties. Since his death the royalties had come to Will. So Will become rich. He
was a simple human and eliminated any kind of difficulty in his life. Will had a lot of
girlfriends but if the relationship became complicated, he ended it.
Will went out with his friends in the evening. They weren't close friends but they were
good enough for a drink or meal. During the day, he cannot spend time with his friends,
because they have jobs.
Will had other two friends, John and Cristine, who had two children. Will didn´t stand
children, because it is a very big responsibility. The second child was born a week before
and they invited Will to see her. John and Cristine proposed to him to be Imoge´s
Godfather. Will said absolute NO, he didn't like children and he thought that his friends
were really unhappy being parents.

Marcus is twelve. He presents himself as weird. He had his parents (Fiona and Clive) get
divorced when he was 8 years old. By that time, he used to live in Cambridge. But now he
has moved to London. He was worried about his first day of class. For him, he has two
lives. One, in London with his mum, visiting his grandparents, going to school, doing
homework. And the other, with more people, mom's boyfriend and dad´s girlfriend,
Cambridge and London. In Cambridge's school he didn't feel uncomfortable because
there were weird children too. He didn't go to parties because he was very shy. In
London's school, he felt very uncomfortable. The first day, he sang for no reason and all
classmates laughed at him.

Will saw Angie, who was a beautiful woman and looked like Julie Christie, a film star. Then
Will saw her again in a cafe and started a conversation. At the end, he had her phone
number. Will was surprised that Angie wanted to go out with him. Women like her didn't
go out with men like Will. And the reason was that Angie was a single mother with two
children. Will was very angry but his reaction was to say to her that for him that wasn't a
problem. In the following weeks, Will played with Angie's children, and he thought that
was a good arrangement. He could walk hand-in-hand with tha woman while the children
played in front of them. Will became a better person. Angie loved Will because he wasn't
her ex-husband who had problems with drink and work, and who was sleeping with his
secretary.
After six weeks Will found something difficult like Angie was late at their dates because
she couldn't find a babysitter. So he was thinking about ending the relationship but Angie
finished it first. Will didn't feel responsible at all and he liked that feeling. So he thought of
dating single mothers and in the end of the relationship he wouldn´t feel guilty.

In the morning Marcus´s mum started to cry before breakfast and that was new for
Marcus. It was a bad sign because it meant that it could start at any time of the day. That
scared him. He didn´t know how to react or what he could say. He didn't understand why
she was crying. Neither of them talked and he went to school. On his way, he was
thinking about the reason she was crying. He eliminated money problems because his
mother had a job and they weren't poor but they weren't rich. Then he thought about if
someone had died, he knew that all his family were ok. After he thought about problems
with men. He thought of other reasons but he had his own problems. He suffered bullying
by a group of children. Marcus´s friends were Nicky and Mark and when Marcus arrived
they were playing. When they finished playing, they started another game. They didn't
offer Marcus to play with them. Marcus felt excluded. He knew that they were not his real
friends but he could talk to them because the three of them were the weird children. Then
some older boys annoyed them. So Nicky and Mark said to Marcus that they don't want
him to stay with them because since he arrived they had problems. Marcus understood.

Will wanted to meet single mums so he pretended to be a single father and invented a
two years old son called Ned. But he couldn't believe his invented story, he didn't feel like
a single dad. He phoned at the SPAT (Single Parents - Alone Together) and talked with a
woman called Frances. She invited him to the next meeting. He was really worried about
making a mistake in something.
When he arrived he only saw a woman in the room and the classroom was depressing.
Then the other members start to arrive. He liked a woman called Suzie. They start to talk
and Suzie talks about how all the members were left by their husband. And Will felt
depressed about being a man. He said that his wife left him too. Will thought that Suzie
liked him.

Marcus went to Cambridge with his dad. He spent the time with his dad and his dad’s
girlfriend called Lindsey in Lindsey’s mum’s house who lived by the sea. Marcus had a
good time. But the day after he got back, he came home and found his mum lying on the
floor with a coat over her. Marcus was angry and he wanted someone to take care of him.
Because he had a terrible time at school and at home and those places are the only
Marcus knew. His mother is the person who had to alleviate that situation and he said
that. After that his mum told him that he had a picnic with Suzie, his mum’s best friend.
Marcus liked her but he didn’t want to go to a SPAT picnic. The same Suzie who Will met.

Chapter 3: The Dead Duck Day & Chapter 4: Marcus's Plan

Will went to the SPAT picnic with Suzie and Marcus. Will thought that Marcus was a weird
boy because of his haircut and his odd clothes. Will told Suzie for the first time a real thing
that he had never worked in his life and told her the song written by his father.
Will tried to talk with Marcus and Marcus in a certain point of view embarrassed Will. Then
Will played with the children because he didn’t want to answer questions about Ned.
Marcus killed a duck accidentally because he threw a loaf of bread. And the park-keeper
suggested that Marcus kill the duck. Will helped Marcus and said that he loves animals
and he only threw that loaf because he wanted to sink the dead body. Then Marcus
thought he saw his mum.

When they arrived at Marcus's house, Suzie started to scream at Fiona because she had
tried to kill herself. Marcus was frightened and he’d never forget it. Fiona was taken to the
hospital and Suzie went with her. Will drove Marcus and Megan to the hospital. Fiona
stayed there and Marcus, Megan and Suzie went to Suzie’s house and Will went to his
house. Will found the situation enjoyable but he didn’t want to repeat it.
Marcus read the letter of his mum. She said that it wasn’t his fault and things will be better.
Fiona arrived at the house with Suzie. Marcus and his mum talked. He said that he was
angry about all the things. Then he understood that he had to make his family grow
because if there were two members of the family and one died the other would let on his
own.

Will was interested in Marcus and Fiona. So he asked what he could do. Will, Marcus and
Fiona are going to meet again on Saturday. Marcus wanted Will and Fiona to be together
so they could be a big family. At first the start of the conversation was difficult but then
they started to talk about Marcus’s dad.

Will didn’t like Fiona as his girlfriend. He didn’t like Marcus and Fiona. He thought that
they were weird and depressing. So he tried to go back to his life. Then Marcus arrived at
his house. Marcus knew that Will hadn't had a child. He only wanted Will to date his mum.
But Will didn’t want to. Marcus left Will’s house.

Chapter 5: New Trainers & Chapter 6: Ellie

Marcus could make Will do something because Marcus knew his secret. One day, Marcus
went to Will´s house and they talked about life. In that conversation Will discovered that
Marcus was bullied by older boys. And Will knew the reason. It is because Marcus looks
different than the other guys. The next week, Marcus pressed the doorbell and Will saw
that two boys were throwing to him somo sweets. Will bought new Adidas trainers for
Marcus so they didn't bother him. The next day Marcus's new trainers were stolen. Marcus
told his mum that he went to Will´s house and he bought him a new pair of trainers. Fiona
got angry and they went to the house of Will. Fiona and Will argued. That moment Marcus
noticed that his mother didn't understand him but Will did. Then Fiona prohibited him from
coming back to Wiil´s house but Marcus said that he needed a father.

Fiona talked with Will. She told him that it's best if Marcus doesn't see him. And Will
agreed. Then Fiona talked with Mrs Morrison, the head teacher, about the stolen trainers
and Marcus had to wait outside of the office. There he met Ellie. She was fifteen years old.
They talked. She talked about a football player. After that Marcus had to talk with Mrs
Morrison. She didn't like Marcus and he left the office in a rude way. He left the school
too. Will saw him. Marcus went to Will´s house. He felt very upset about what happened in
the school and Will helped him. In fact, there Marcus understood that Ellie didn't talk
about a footballer, she talked about a singer. The next day, Marcus talked with Ellie and a
friend, Zoe. He was very happy to talk with someone. He asked Will if he could invite Ellie
to his flat and he said no. The following day, Marcus again talked with Ellie and walked
with her and Zoe. He felt important. Ellie gave him a kiss.

Chapter 7: Christmas at Fiona's & Chapter 8: Falling

Will was sad because he began to listen to his dad´s song. He hated Christmas and his
dad too for different reasons. Will had no plans for Christmas and he didn't want to spend
it with Marcus and Fiona. But the next day, Marcus invited him to spend Christmas with
them and Will accepted. When he arrived, he saw more people like Clive and Lindsey. All
of them gave and received presents. After that, Suzie arrived with Megan and Will felt
very embarrassed because Fiona told them that he didn't have a kid. When Will wanted to
go home, Marcus didn't want to and said a speech of how good Will is.

Will fell in love with Rachel, a woman who met at a party on New Year's Eve. He told her
that he had a twelve-year-old boy because he didn't have anything else interesting.
Rachel had a kid too he called Ali. At midnight they kissed, and Rachel suggested that Ali
and Marcus played together. Will asked Marcus to be his son. And he accepted because
he understood the feeling. Marcus fell in love with Ellie. Then Marcus was alone with Ali
and he ameaned him that Will should not date his mum or he would kill him. Marcus got
frightened and thought that Ali was crazy so he went out of the house and went to a bus
station. Will saw him and they came back to Rachel's house. Ali said sorry to Marcus. Then
Marcus said that Will fancies Rachel.

Chapter 9: Depression, Chapter 10: A Trip to Cambridge & Chapter 11: Growing up
Will told Rachel the truth. He told her that Marcus wasn´t his son. Rachel wasn't mad at
him, she tried to make him feel better.

Marcus started to feel different and happy, he changed things about him with the help of
Will. But then Fiona starts crying again and Marcus feels the same as before but now he
has Will and Elli. Marcus told Will if he could do something. Will didn't want to talk with
Fiona about depression so he refused to do it. Marcus told Ellie about what was
happening and she made him company to make him feel better.

Will got worried about Fiona so he asked for some help from Rachel and he told her
everything. Rachel wanted to talk with Fiona so she could feel better. Will was very happy.
He was in love.

Clive broke his arm and wanted Marcus to visit him. He was angry because never before
had he asked for him. He told Ellie how he felt and she suggested going with him to
Cambridge. They agreed to meet at the train station. The day of the trip, Marcus saw in
someone's newspaper that Cobain was dead. He started to get a lot of feelings at the
same time. He felt sad for Cobain's family, sad for his mum, sad for Ellie and sad for
himself. He saw Ellie normal and he thought that she didn't see the new. Marcus played a
game of trust with Ellie. She had to close her eyes and Marcus had to guide her. The plan
is that Ellie doesn't see the news. But she said she saw the news and she started to drink
vodka. By the other side of the story, Will had arranged to go to a pub with Rachel and
Fiona. Then he would leave and the girls would have a conversation and Fiona wouldn't
want to kill herself. But that didn't happen. Will arrived first, then Fiona but Rachel never
arrived. He realized that Rachel helped him that way. Then Fiona started to cry and she
started to talk about her problems. Will only listened to her and learnt that Fiona didn't
want to be a mother and sometimes hated Marcus. When they were on their way to
Fiona´s house, they heard that Cobain died. Will didn 't get surprised but then he was
afraid of Marcus and Ellie. There were two messages from Marcus and he was frightened.
Ellie and Marcus argued. He said she makes her own problems, that she didn't have a
difficult life. Marcus started to recognize that he didn't like Ellie. He didn't stand her
behaviour. Then she got out of the train and Marcus followed her. Ellie broke a glass
because she was angry but Marcus didn't like that.

Marcus and Ellie were taken to the police station. Then arrived Clive and Lindsey. Marcus
was tired and angry. Fiona, Ellie´s mother and Will were on their way to the police station
in Royston. Marcus had a conversation with his dad. Clive was worried that he left Marcus
and he wasn't a good father. But Marcus said that he was ok and he met more people
who can trust.
Will really fell in love with Rachel. So he took Ali and Marcus to the cinema, parks and
football games. Marcus changed and Will knew that.

best. During the story it generated a lot of emotions and I think that is the best thing a

-The body-
*Stephen King*

Chapter 1: The Hardest Things to Say & Chapter 2: The Tree House Gang:
There are things you´re ashamed of. And your enemies can find it. The character who
tells us this chapter, saw a dead person at the age of twelve, almost thirteen, in1960. He keeps
remembering that.

They had a treehouse in Castle Rock. The tree house had no name, it was a kind of club.
In this “club”, there were five or six people who went regularly and others who came and went.
They let them in when they were playing cards for money and needed fresh blood. The tree
house was made of wood and the roof was made of metal, which had been taken from the
dump and they had to be careful of the dump owner's dog because people said ate children for
breakfast.
In the tree house, they smoke and look at girlie books. And they built a secret place to
hide those things when somebody's father visits them.
Teddy, Chris and the narrator were in the club. Teddy Duchamp had a particular laugh.
All of them knew that Teddy was strange and sometimes he looked like an old man. He had his
ears ugly, because one day his dad got angry with him for breaking a plate. Teddy´s dad took
him over to the oven and pushed the side of Teddy's head down against one of the burner
plates. And did the same with the other side. His father had been on the beaches in Normandy
and had just got worse and worse ever since. Then, they sent him to Togus, which was a special
hospital for soldiers who were mad from the war. Even so, Teddy was proud of his father and
visited him in Togus every week. Teddy was a crazy boy and stupid. He did anything for a dare.
Gordie, the narrator, in April his older brother, Dennis, had died in a Jeep accident. He
had just started training in the army. He was twenty.
When they were playing cards, Vern Tessio (also one of the regulars) arrived at the tree
house. He told them to be outside their homes and asked them if they wanted to see a dead
body.

Chapter 3: The Forests of Maine & Chapter 4: A Jar of Pennies

They heard about Ray Brower, he was a boy with the same age as the main characters
and he lived near Castle Rock. He disappeared when he was picking fruits.
Vern heard his brother Billy talking with his friend Charlie about Brower's body. Both of
them were in the forest when they accidentally crossed the Brower´s body. And they said
they're not going to tell the police because they were driving a stolen car.

Chapter 5: Making Plans & Chapter 6: Brother Denny:

They plan to escape from their homes and go to see the dead body. They agreed to say
that they are going to have lunch at Vern’s back field. Once they find the body, they will call the
police and become famous.
Gordie's parents give him permission to go. He talks about the relationship with his
brother, Dennis. It was a good relationship but not very strong because they had seven years of
difference. And the relationship with his parents was not good, they never paid attention to
him, they always cared about Dennis.

Chapter 7: The gun & Chapter 8: The Railway:

Gordie was excited to go. He was on his way to the clubhouse when he met Chris. Chris
shows Gordie his father´s handgun. And Gordie fired the gun. Then, when all the regular
members were at the clubhouse, they started the trip.
They were on their way to buy something to eat. Then they heard the train get close
and they decided to jump. But Teddy wants to wait more and then jump. Nevertheless, Gordie
pulled him to the top of the bank and pushed him over the edge. Gordie and Teddy fought.
After that, they calmed down.

Chapter 9: The Dump & Chapter 10: Milo and Chopper:

They climbed the fence to get water even though it was closed. They were worried
about meeting Milo Pressman, the head of the dump, and his dog, Chopper. The dog has a bad
reputation. They flip a coin to decide who will leave to buy food. The first time, two heads and
two tails. In the second one, all had four tails and that meant bad luck. Finally, Gordie had a
head that means really good luck and the rest, tails. Gordie gets frightened. Then he went to
buy food.
When Gordie was returning, he saw Milo and Chopper. Gordie was very afraid. Then
Chopper chased Gordie. But he was able to cross the fence. Teddy annoys the dog and he
becomes angrier. Milo insults Teddy by talking about his father´s psychiatric issues.

Chapter 11: Night-Sweats & Chapter 12: The Bridge:

Teddy cried and the other guys didn't know how to calm down Teddy. He felt so bad
about the thing that Milo said. Chris calms Teddy. Then Vern said that they shouldn't have a
good time because they were going to see a dead body. And he said how he felt. He related the
situation with night-sweats. When he read a frightening magazine, he imagined something
under his bed.
They had to cross a railway bridge that wasn't made for walking across. Vern and
Gordie almost died.

Chapter 13: The Loser's Life & Chapter 14: Darkness in the Forest
Chris and Gordie talk about the beginning of the classes. Chris said to Gordie that he
had taken college courses. Gordie didn't want to, he wanted to stay with his friends (in shop
courses). Chris didn't like that Gordie stayed with him because he had something special and he
didn't have to waste it. Then Chris describes the life of Gordie, about his parents that they
didn't care about him. Chris wanted to be Gordie´s father, so he can change something in
Gordie, for example don't even consider taking shop courses. Chris told Gordie one situation
where he was betrayed by a teacher, Mrs Simons. And he wanted to take college courses so he
can leave Castle Rock, he wanted to go to a place where nobody knows him. But he can't take
those classes because “friends can drag a person down” referring to Vern and Teddy.
They had dinner and later they smoked. Gordie thought about Ray Brower. The fact of
thinking that Ray was alone, neither his mother, nor his father, nor his friends were looking for
him, he was dead, was going to make him cry. Then he started telling a story to Vern, Teddy and
Chris. It was about a soldier who had a lot of adventures in the Second World War. But, in his
mind's eye saw the face of a much younger boy, already dead. And behind him, instead of
war-scarred France, he saw only dark forest and the railway tracks dark.

Chapter 15: A Dream of Deep Water & Chapter 16: The Deer:
Gordie thought he was in his bedroom but he was still in the forest. In the middle of the
night, the four friends heard a loud screaming. Teddy said it was Brower's ghost scream. They
took turns to watch that nothing happens. Gordie dreamed about Chris being drowned by
Teddy and Vern. Then he woke up because Teddy had his hand on his leg. He was shaking him
awake.

Gordie liked that day, he enjoyed that period of time of that day and he didn't want to
share that with his friends. Then Gordie saw a deer alongside the railway tracks. He got frozen.
A train goes by and wakes up the other boys. He wanted to tell them about the deer but he
didn't tell them. In that moment he found himself.

Chapter 17: Leeches & Chapter 18: Short Shadows, Dusty Shoes:
When they were walking, Chris and Vern saw water. Then all of them went to a deep
pool. They were swimming when Gordie saw that Vern had leeches on his legs. So, all of them
had leeches on their bodies.
They realized that they were further away than they thought.

Chapter 19: A Serious Matter & Chapter 20: The Body:

Billy Tessio, Charlie Hogan, Jack Mudgett, Norman 'Fuzzy' Brackowicz, Vince
Desjardins, Chris's older brother Eyeball and Ace Merrill were on their way to see the body and
be "heroes".
They were in a thunderstorm when Vern saw the body. Actually, at first they only saw
the hand and made them know that death is real. Then, they saw the body. It looks like the train
hit him. (Gordie told us as readers that his imagination is really good but sometimes it can be a
disadvantage). That was what finally made him realize that the guy was dead. They saw his eyes
open, one was rolled back and the other was staring straight up into the storm. Gordie wanted
to puke himself, but nothing happened. Then Ace Merrill discovered them.
Chapter 21: Ace Merrill & Chapter 22: Hailstones:
All the gang of Ace Merrill arrive. They wanted to take the Ray Brower´s body and they
didn't let them. Then Ace threatened them. When it seemed that they were going to fight,
Chris used the gun he had taken from his father's desk. And Chris threatened Ace for shouting
him in the arm or leg.
It started the storm but with hailstone. Vern and Teddy left. Gordie stayed with Chris.
Chris and Ace kept threatening each other. Then, all the gang of Ace left too. Chris got angry
with Teddy and Vern for leaving them. He fell to the ground and lay in the exact position Ray
Brower was lying. And then he started to
cry. Later Gordie went to sit down on one of the tracks and Teddy and Vern followed him.

Chapter 23: A Twenty-Year-Old Dream & Chapter 24: Love his teeth:
Chris said that the body does not belong to anyone. They saved both cartridges. Teddy
wanted to stay and took the body. But Chris said to him that was not possible because if they
had the body, the other guys could say anything, like they can tell lies. Teddy agreed in silence.
Then Chris said the plan to return home, and they were arguing. Before they return, they look
for the last time the dead body. On the way, Gordie starts to think about Ray Brower. "Perhaps
Ray Brower had died because he was simply too frightened to go on living". The present Gordie
wants to go again and search the bucket, that is his twenty year old dream. "I think: that boy
was me. And then the fearful thought comes: Which boy do you mean?"
One by one said goodbye. Everyone went home. In this chapter, Gordie used a
metaphor which describes a love which can bite.

Chapter 25: Empty kitchen, Chapter 26: Some People Drown & Chapter 27: Tears for a
Friend:
Gordon´s mum didn't care for him.
Ace told the police where Ray's body was. Nobody became a hero. Nobody said
anything. Ace hit Gordon, Teddy and Vern. Teddy and Vern bring boys to the tree house and
Chris and Gordon went there less. They separated from Teddy and Vern. Friends come in and
out.
Vern died in a fire. Teddy couldn't get into the army and died in a car accident. Chris and
Gordie studied together. But Chris died trying to stop a fight. Gordie is a writer.
