1.

1. Fertilizer, natural or artificial substance containing

the chemical elements that improve growth and
productiveness of plants.
2. Modern chemical fertilizers include one or more of
the three elements that are most important in plant
nutrition: nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Of
secondary importance are the elements sulfur,
magnesium, and calcium.
3. Most nitrogen fertilizers are obtained from synthetic
ammonia; this chemical compound (NH3) is used
either as a gas or in a water solution, or it is converted
into salts such as ammonium sulfate, ammonium
nitrate, and ammonium phosphate, but packinghouse
wastes, treated garbage, sewage, and manure are also
common sources of it.
4. . Mixed fertilizers contain more than one of the three
major nutrients—nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.
Mixed fertilizers can be formulated in hundreds of
ways.
5. One type distributes anhydrous ammonia, a liquid
under pressure, which becomes a nitrogenous gas when
freed from pressure as it enters the soil.
2.

1. Materials added to planting media or plants to meet

the nutrient needs of plants so that they are able to
produce well.
2. Increasing agricultural production both in quality
and quantity, environmental degradation, and
improving land quality in a sustainable manner.
3.*Nitrogen(N)
*Makes plants greener
* Accelerates plant growth (height, number of tillers,
number of branches)
* Increase the protein content of the harvest.

*Phosphorus(P)
1.Stimulate root growth and form a good root system
2.Activate the growth of plant tissue that forms the
point of plant growth
3. Stimulates flower formation and fruit/seed ripening,
thereby accelerating the harvest period
4. Increase the proportion of flower formation into fruit
5. Arrange and cover cell walls, thereby increasing
plant resistance to pests and diseases.
* Potassium (K)
1.As an enzyme activator. There are about 80 types of
enzymes whose activation requires elemental K.
2.Helps the absorption of water and nutrients from the
soil by plants
3.Helps transport assimilated products from leaves to
plant tissues

4. Single fertilizer is a fertilizer that only contains 1

particular nutrient. Compound fertilizers are fertilizers
that contain certain nutrients.

5.1. Plant growth is slow.

2. Plants are thin and stunted.
3. Leaves are green, short, small and erect.
4. The old leaves are light green, then turn yellow and
lay.
5. If you have time to bear fruit, the fruit will be
stunted, ripen quickly and fall out.
