The quote “Research is what I’m doing when I don’t know what I’m doing.” by Wernher von Braun
imparts the importance of research to justify a certain hypothesis and to answer viewpoints on certain
phenomena. Research is a creative and systematic work that focuses on investigating and uncovering
the unknown through the use of scholarly works such as books, newspapers, and etc. It allows the
researcher to find the most suitable answer for a question which gives clarity to their work or personal
use. Research is what propels humanity to move forward. People get curious, ask questions, and find
different ways to answer these questions for the satisfaction of ourselves and for others. Research
expands our base knowledge. The process of the research opens up opportunities for learning and
growth.

The quote tells us that research is the key to new knowledge. We tend to search for alternative answers
for the things we don’t know. Doing research introduces us to new ideas which open up possibilities and
widens our horizon on a certain viewpoint or phenomena. Research keeps us moving by allowing us to
learn new things that will prove helpful for our future use.
