CRIME

Computer Misuse refers to the improper use of a computer system or using a


computer system or networks for unintended or unauthorized purposes. Computer
misuse can also be defined as the unauthorized access, use, or modification of
computer systems or data. Computer misuse can also include actions that violate the
terms of service of a computer system or software, such as using a trial version of
software after the trial period has expired. Another example of computer misuse is
An employee who uses the company’s computer system to access personal email or
browse social media during work hours without permission may be guilty of
computer misuse

Computer Crime refers to any criminal act that involves a computer system or digital
device. The computer system is being used as tools to carry out the crime. This can
include actions such as hacking, identity theft, online fraud, cyberbullying, or the
distribution of illegal content. Computer crimes can range from relatively minor
offenses such as unauthorized access to a computer system, to more serious crimes
such as theft, espionage, or terrorism. Computer crime can be also be defined as an
act performed by a knowledgeable computer user, sometimes called a hacker, that
illegally browses or steals a company's or individual's private
information. Computer crimes are also committed by some people for the purpose
of proving that they are capable of doing them. Those who are successful in
committing computer crimes may feel great satisfaction.

Computer crime also includes crimes in which computer systems are targeted, or in
which computers are the scene of the crime committed.
